We study a time homogeneous discrete composite-action Markov decision process (CMDP) which needs to make multiple decisions at each state. In this particular Markov decision process, the state variables are divided into two separable sets and a two-dimensional composite action is chosen at each decision epoch. To solve a composite-action Markov decision process, we propose a novel linear programming model (Contracted Linear Programming Model, CLPM). We show that the CLPM model obtains the optimal state values of a CMDP process. We analyze and compare the number of variables and constraints of the CLPM model and the Traditional Linear Programming Model (TLPM). Computational experiments compare running times and memory usage of the two models. The CLPM model outperforms the TLPM model in both time complexity and space complexity by theoretical analysis and computational experiments.

Customer is the source of business income, a stable customer base is the guarantee of enterprise survival and development of enterprises by using Markov decision process, decision-makers in the new decision point in time, to the latest state of observation system and adopt an original decision, decided in a well-posed option set an action sequence, and then choose to create value and total revenue in this sequence the most significant behavior, obtain the best marketing strategy, formulate relevant enterprise actual customer, dynamic programming model.

Based on the single-leg air cargo issues, we establish a dynamic programming model to consider the overbooking and space inventory control problem. We analyze the structure of optimal booking policy for every kind of booking requests and show that the optimal booking decision is of threshold type (known as booking limit policy). Our research provides a theoretical support for the air cargo space control.

Production planning is often challenging for small medium enterprises (SMEs) company. Most of the SMEs are having difficulty in determining the optimal level of the production output which can affect their business performance. Product mix optimization is one of the main key for production planning. Many company have used linear programming model in determining the optimal combination of various products that need to be produced in order to maximize profit. Thus, this study aims for profit maximization of a SME company in Malaysia by using linear programming model. The purposes of this study are to identify the current process in the production line and to formulate a linear programming model that would suggest a viable product mix to ensure optimum profitability for the company. ABC Sdn Bhd is selected as a case study company for product mix profit maximization study. Some conclusive observations have been drawn and recommendations have been suggested. This study will provide the company and other companies, particularly in Malaysia, an exposure of linear programming method in making decisions to determine the maximum profit for different product mix.
