BiOCl/(BiO)2CO3 composites with reactive exposed {001} facets have been synthesized by a one-step in situ solvothermal method. The synergistic effect of type-II band alignment and exposed high-energy facets enhances photocatalytic activity.

A non-cytotoxic Bi2S3/β-Bi2O3/ZnIn2S4 photocatalyst assembled by in situ reflux method exhibits dual Z-scheme mechanism with excellent visible light assisted photocatalytic activity for tetracycline degradation, Cr(vi) reduction, H2 generation and bacterial inactivation.
