In the wireless sensor network (WSN), wireless communication is said to be the dominant power-consuming operation and it is a challenging one. Virtual Multiple-Input–Multiple-Output (V-MIMO) technology is considered to be the energy-saving method in the WSN. In this paper, a novel multihop virtual MIMO communication protocol is designed in the WSN via cross-layer design to enhance the energy efficiency, reliability, and end-to-end (ETE) and Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning. On the basis of the proposed protocol, the optimal set of parameters concerning the transmission and the overall consumed energy by each of the packets is found. Furthermore, the modeling of ETE latency and throughput of the protocol takes place with respect to the bit-error-rate (BER). A novel hybrid optimization algorithm referred as Flight Straight Moth Updated Particle Swarm Optimization (FS-MUP) is introduced to find the optimal BER that meets the QoS, ETE requirements of each link with lower power consumption. Finally, the performance of the proposed model is evaluated over the extant models in terms of Energy Consumption and BER as well.

A millimeter-wave wideband antenna is presented for the 5th generation applications. The operation band ranges from 24 GHz to 39 GHz which covers most of the Ka band. Furthermore, a 9×9 multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna is developed. The high isolation is achieved without introducing external decoupling structures. The transmission coefficient is under −20 dB within only 0.4 mm space between antenna elements. The radiation pattern also shows the stability within the wide operation band. Both simulated and measured results show that this proposed MIMO antenna is suitable for the future wireless communications.

We study the energy efficiency (EE) optimization problem in non-orthogonal unicast and multicast transmission for massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with statistical channel state information of all receivers available at the transmitter. Firstly, we formulate the EE maximization problem. We reduce the number of variables to be solved and simplify this large-dimensional-matrix-valued problem into a real-vector-valued problem. Next, we lower the computational complexity significantly by replacing the objective with its deterministic equivalent to avoid the high-complex expectation operation. With guaranteed convergence, we propose an iterative algorithm on beam domain power allocation using the minorize maximize algorithm and Dinkelbach’s transform and derive the locally optimal power allocation strategy to achieve the optimal EE. Finally, we illustrate the significant EE performance gain of our EE maximization algorithm compared with the conventional approach through conducting numerical simulations.

Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system has been brought a great improvement in spectral efficiency and the system capacity by serving multiple users simultaneously. The mathematical model of downlink Multi-user MIMO system and its capacity has been presented as well as different precoded transmission schemes. It is to implementing the downlink MU-MIMO system, such as channel inversion (CI), block diagonalization (BD), dirty paper coding (DPC) and tomlinsonharashimaprecoding (THP). It is because, in wireless and mobile communication system has been requires a reliable transmission of high data rates under various channel type different scenarios and reduce MU interference in the system.   These compares the method of transmission for broadcast channel (BC) and propose the best one method that outperforms existing technique with percentage improvement from the worst performance.
