AbstractNowadays, the automobile sector is one of the hottest applications, where vehicles can be intelligent by using IoT technology. But unfortunately, these vehicles suffer from many crimes. Hence it has become a big challenge for the IoT to avoid such these crimes from professional thieves. This paper presents a proposal for the development of a vehicle guard and alarm system using biometric authentication based on IoT technology. Whereas, for vehicle security issues; the proposed system VSS − IoT gives only full access for authorized vehicle’s driver based on the interface of a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ development board, Pi camera, PIR sensor, and smart-phone. Therefore, if the proposed system detects an unauthorized person inside the vehicle, then the system will notify and send his image to vehicle’s owner and/or to a police workstation through the Internet, as well as, its location in case the vehicle is stolen or damaged. The proposed system is tested on two datasets that are ORL dataset and our dataset. The experimental results of the VSS − IoT showed that the accuracy is 98.2% on ORL dataset, whereas 99.6% when applied on our dataset. Besides, the VSS − IoT enhances the sensitivity to 97.7% which is important for real-time. As well as the result demonstrated that the proposed system took shorter time 0.152 sec under different illumination conditions, when the value of the threshold is 3 * 103 and 3.50 * 103. Therefore, the VSS − IoT is very robust and reliable for face recognition when deployed on the low-power processor.

This article describes the development of a security monitoring device for vehicles which gives instant reports to the user about any anomaly that occurs in his absence. This device also allows remote and local control actions, using GSM technology and Bluetooth, giving more functionality than common vehicle security systems. In this paper the different development stages are presented, starting with a short review about existing relevant devices in order to identify the necessary functional requirements and innovation opportunities. Later, a block diagram of the device is presented and the specific design parameter are detailed. The final experimentation showed that the developed equipment has a greater functionality than existing devices and lower production cost.

The parameters of radar antenna systems constructed according to the traditional scheme with phase shifters inserted both in the transmitting and receiving antenna array with the radar in which signal processing is performed only on the receiving side are considered and compared in the paper. In the second case, an additional requirement of orthogonality of the radiated signals is imposed on the radiating system of the transmitter. The characteristics of the radar with three transmitters and four receivers are compared. Two variants of forming a virtual antenna array are considered. In the first case, the radiation of the linear regular antenna array is analyzed, in the second case the thinned one, but with the same number of emitters. We demonstrate that in the second case, it is possible to implement the radar with a better angular resolution. The features of using the radar as a short-range radar for vehicle security systems with a wide-angle view are elaborated. The possibility of false capture of the target is noted. The authors of the research suggest the unambiguous direction finding method.

Vehicle security is one of the major concerns that the entire world is currently experiencing. People generally own automobiles, yet these automobiles are not always secure. Vehicle theft occurs in parking lots, public places, and other unsafe areas. The vehicle’s manufacturer does not consider the vehicle security system to be a factor in the overall cost of the vehicle. Nowadays, only a few vehicles come equipped with high-priced security systems. Door locking, alarm system, GSM, GPS, and other security features are built into high-end vehicles only. There is a necessity to build a low-cost security system for vehicles that common people can afford it and the manufacture can built-in the security system in a wide range of automobiles. This paper proposed a method for vehicle theft detection, tracking, and accident identification using the Internet of Things.

AbstractIntelligent identity authentication in vehicle security systems, as a vital component in anti-theft system and safety driving assist system, has received wide attention. Current vehicle security systems, however, focus the car security on the car keys security, ignore the owner of car keys. Anyone who owns the car keys can operate the car. This paper introduces an intelligent identity authentication method for vehicle security system based on wireless signals. Unlike past work, our approach combines car security with car owners and car keys. The intuition underlying our design is that when a user walks towards the car, the user’s gait information can be leveraged to identify the user. We capture the user’s gait information using wireless devices which can be deployed in the car, and then extract features from the received wireless signals using convolution kernel and apply artificial neural network to identify the user. We built a prototype and experimental results show that our approach can achieve high accuracy and strong robustness.

Vehicle security refers to securing the vehicle against potential thieves. Vehicle makers have been experimenting with various approaches in order to give improved security systems. The usage of GPS and GSM technology can provide security for the car. The security of a vehicle is ensured in this project by tracking its whereabouts. For the integration of the global positioning system, the EKF is widely utilised (GPS) When the system's non-linearity grows or the measurement co-variance is erroneous, the EKF’s performance deteriorates. An extended state observer is introduced for the first time to improve loosely coupled GPS navigation performance utilizing accurate measurement modeling. The RMS values of positional errors are reduced by 52.57 percent, 48.56 percent, and 34.16 percent in the north, east, and vertical directions, respectively.

The multi-pattern matching is a fundamental technique found in applications like a network intrusion detection system, anti-virus, anti-worms and other signature- based information security tools. Due to rising traffic rates, increasing number and sophistication of attacks and the collapse of Moore’s law, traditional software solutions can no longer keep up. Therefore, hardware approaches are frequently being used by developers to accelerate pattern matching. Reconfigurable FPGA-based devices, providing the flexibility of software and the near-ASIC performance, have become increasingly popular for this purpose. Hence, increasing the efficiency of reconfigurable information security tools is a scientific issue now. Many different approaches to constructing hardware matching circuits on FPGAs are known. The most widely used of them are based on discrete comparators, hash-functions and finite automata. Each approach possesses its own pros and cons. None of them still became the leading one. In this paper, a method to combine several different approaches to enforce their advantages has been developed. An analytical technique to quickly advance estimate the resource costs of each matching scheme without need to compile FPGA project has been proposed. It allows to apply optimization procedures to near-optimally split the set of pattern between different approaches in acceptable time.
