This paper presents a novel method for accurately encoding 3D range geometry within the color channels of a 2D RGB image that allows the encoding frequency—and therefore the encoding precision—to be uniquely determined for each coordinate. The proposed method can thus be used to balance between encoding precision and file size by encoding geometry along a normal distribution; encoding more precisely where the density of data is high and less precisely where the density is low. Alternative distributions may be followed to produce encodings optimized for specific applications. In general, the nature of the proposed encoding method is such that the precision of each point can be freely controlled or derived from an arbitrary distribution, ideally enabling this method for use within a wide range of applications.

This paper describes the reconfiguration of molecular tunneling junctions during operation via the self-assembly of bilayers of glycol ethers. We use well-established functional groups to modulate the magnitude and direction of rectification in assembled tunneling junctions by exposing them to solutions containing different glycol ethers. Variable-temperature measurements establish that rectification occurs by a bias-dependent tunneling-hopping mechanism and that glycol ethers, beside being an unusually efficient tunneling medium, behave identically to alkanes. We fabricated memory bits from crossbar junctions prepared by injecting eutectic Ga-In into microfluidic channels. Two 8-bit registers were able to perform logical AND operations on bit strings encoded into chemical packets as microfluidic droplets that alter the composition of the crossbar junctions through self-assembly to effect memristor-like properties. This proof of concept work demonstrates the potential for fieldable molecular-electronic devices based on tunneling junctions of self-assembled monolayers and bilayers.

Transfer function model with multiple input is a multivariate time series forecasting model that combines several characteristics of ARIMA models by utilizing some regression analysis properties. This model is used to determine the effect of output series towards input series so that the model can be used to analyze the factors that affect the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII). The USD exchange rate against rupiah and Dow Jones Index (DJI) were used as input series. The transfer function model was constructed through several stages: model identification stage, estimation of transfer function model, and model diagnostic test. Based on the transfer function model, the JII was influenced by JII at the period of one and two days before. JII was also affected by the USD exchange rate against rupiah at the same period and at one and two days before. In addition, the JII was influenced by DJI at the same period and also at period of one until five days ago. The Mean Absolute Prencentage Error (MAPE) value of forecasting result was 0.70% and the correlation between actual and forecast data was 0.77. This shows that the model was well performed for forecasting JII.
