A new plot is described for analysing the results of kinetic experiments in which the Michaelis–Menten equation is obeyed. Observations are plotted as lines in parameter space, instead of points in observation space. With appropriate modifications the plot is applicable to most problems of interest to the enzyme kineticist. It has the following advantages over traditional methods of plotting kinetic results: it is very simple to construct, because it is composed entirely of straight lines and requires no calculation or mathematical tables; the kinetic constants are read off the plot directly, again without calculation; it may be used during the course of an experiment to judge the success of the experiment, and to modify the experimental design; it provides clear and accurate information about the quality of the observations, and identifies aberrant observations; it provides a clear indication of the precision of the kinetic constants; constructed with care, it provides unbiased estimates of the kinetic constants, the same as those provided by a computer program; it may be used to simulate results for illustrative purposes very rapidly and simply.

BACKGROUND:The aim of this study was to evaluate the information quality of YouTube videos on hallux valgus. METHODS:A YouTube search was performed using the keyword 'hallux valgus' to determine the first 300 videos related to hallux valgus. A total of 54 videos met our inclusion criteria and evaluated for information quality by using DISCERN, Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and hallux valgus information assessment (HAVIA) scores. Number of views, time since the upload date, view rate, number of comments, number of likes, number of dislikes, video power index (VPI) values were calculated to determine video popularity. Video length (sec), video source and video content were also noted. The relation between information quality and these factors were statistically evaluated. RESULTS:The mean DISCERN score was 30.35{plus minus}11.56 (poor quality) (14-64), the mean JAMA score was 2.28{plus minus}0.96 (1-4), and the mean HAVIA score was 3.63{plus minus}2.42 (moderate quality) (0.5-8.5). Although videos uploaded by physicians had higher mean DISCERN, JAMA, and HAVIA scores than videos uploaded by non-physicians, the difference was not statistically significant. Additionally, view rates and VPI values were higher for videos uploaded by health channels, but the difference did not reach statistical significance. A statistically significant positive correlation was found between video length and DISCERN (r= 0.294, p= 0.028), and HAVIA scores (r= 0.326, p= 0.015). CONCLUSIONS:This present study demonstrated that the quality of information available on YouTube videos about hallux valgus was low and insufficient. Videos containing accurate information from reliable sources are needed to educate patients on hallux valgus, especially in less frequently mentioned topics such as postoperative complications and healing period.

The quality of an individual’s mental health has a significant impact on their quality of life, as well as on the cost to society. Regular access to mental health services can help mitigate the risk factors of developing mental illnesses. This paper examines barriers to accessing mental health services, using the community of Peterborough, Ontario, as an example. Social, economic, and cultural barriers impact help-seeking amongst immigrants, putting them at a higher risk of developing mental disorders. The social determinants of mental health can be useful when developing policies aimed at improving utilization of mental healthcare services. Policy makers need to first focus on collecting accurate information on the population, and then developing targeted solutions to eliminate barriers such as language and employment that prevent help-seeking in immigrants.

Therefore, to make an assessment in making a decision to choose a decent demotion employee based on the assessment carried out in the field. Then the decision support system that will be built with a computerized system so that decision making is done quickly and accurately. For this decision support system, use the Profile Matching method or matching the demotion of employee demos with the profile of the employee assessed with the specified Criteria. Making an application program must be made carefully, so that it looks easy to understand and proven useful and useful for users. the system built can help PT. Nafasindo in determining the demotion of employees who are decent and can reduce errors in determining the demotion of employees

The innovation of computational techniques serves as an important step toward optimized, patient-specific management of cancer. In particular,in silicosimulation of tumour growth and treatment response may eventually yield accurate information on disease progression, enhance the quality of cancer treatment, and explain why certain therapies are effective where others are not.In silicomodelling is demonstrated to considerably benefit from information obtainable with PET and PET/CT. In particular, models have successfully integrated tumour glucose metabolism, cell proliferation, and cell oxygenation from multiple tracers in order to simulate tumour behaviour. With the development of novel radiotracers to image additional tumour phenomena, such as pH and gene expression, the value of PET and PET/CT data for use in tumour models will continue to grow. In this work, the use of PET and PET/CT information inin silicotumour models is reviewed. The various parameters that can be obtained using PET and PET/CT are detailed, as well as the radiotracers that may be used for this purpose, their utility, and limitations. The biophysical measures used to quantify PET and PET/CT data are also described. Finally, a list ofin silicomodels that incorporate PET and/or PET/CT data is provided and reviewed.

Objective. Breast cancer is the most common cancer type among women worldwide. Today, health consumers search the Internet to gain health information about many diseases including breast cancer. YouTube™ is the second most commonly used website on the Internet. However, the quality and accuracy of health-related YouTube™ videos are controversial. The objective of this study was to investigate the quality and accuracy of breast cancer-related videos on YouTube™. Material and Methods. “Breast cancer” keyword was entered into YouTube™ search bar, and after excluding advertisement, duplicate, and non-English videos, the first most viewed 50 videos were analyzed. Videos’ length, the number of views, comments, likes, and dislikes were recorded. DISCERN and JAMA scores and Video Power Index (VPI) values of the videos were calculated. All videos were evaluated by two independent radiologists experienced on breast cancer. The correlation between the two observers was also analyzed. Results. Of all videos, 14% were uploaded by physicians, 26% by health channels, 20% by patients, 10% by news channels, 2% by herbalists, 2% by blog channels, and 2% by nonprofit activism channels. The mean DISCERN score was calculated as 26.70±10.99 and the mean JAMA score as 2.23±0.97. The mean VPI value, which was calculated to determine the popularity of the videos, was found as 94.10±4.48. A strong statistically significant correlation was found between the two observers in terms of both DISCERN and JAMA scores. There was an excellent agreement between the two observers. Conclusion. The overall quality of the viewed videos was found as poor. Healthcare professionals should be encouraged to upload breast cancer-related videos with accurate information to promote patients for screening and direct them appropriately.

Abstract Given ever increasing ease of access to technology, the majority of adults first turn to the internet for medical advice. The world wide web is filled with user-generated content within multiple social media platforms that lack a governing body to validate the information’s accuracy and reliability. The authors performed a qualitative review of first-aid burn resources available on YouTube using two validated scales: Modified Discern and Global Quality Scale. A search was conducted using the term “burn treatment” on September 18, 2019. Of 120 reviewed videos, 59 met their inclusion criteria. 36% (n = 21) of the speakers had formal medical training, with only 12% (n = 7) identified as burn care professionals. The mean views originating from nonmedical speakers (162,675) were more than eight times that originating from burn centers (14,975). The quality of the videos was compared by video source, speaker, and specialty. Burn centers had the highest Modified Discern and Global Quality Scale scores, 2.91 and 2.86, respectively (P < .05). Additionally, the authors were able to demonstrate that there was a statistically significant higher quality of videos when the speaker was a burn care professional or had formal medical training. Unfortunately, their review demonstrated that videos originating from hospital systems and burn centers made up a minority of the online media content. These results illustrate an opportunity for improvement by way of increased content creation to bolster the online presence of the burn community and provide patients with more accurate information.

Purworejo District Health Office (DHO) has developed Health Center Management Information System (HCMIS) to provide quick, precise, and accurate information for supporting the process of decision making and the policy of services at Health Center. However, there was still any empty forms and did not use the system. To standardize Health Information System, Ministry of Health has released a concept of Generic SIKDA. Therefore, the system applied by Purworejo DHO needs to be evaluated using the method of HOT fit. This was qualitative research using indepth interview and direct observation. Main informants were nine data operators and informants for triangulation purpose was six persons from health centers and five persons from DHO. Furthermore, data were analyzed using content analysis. The result of this research revealed that the application of HCMIS at Purworejo DHO was equal to Generic SIKDA. The system had been applied routinely but there was no a guidance book and training. Number of human resources was sufficient. However, there needed to make an implementer team of Health Information System in accordance with competency. There was no routine monitoring and current budget was not sufficient to maintain hardware to support the system. Quality of the system used was good, easy to use, and available of menu to communicate data. Unfortunately, quality of resulted information had still been inaccurate and incomplete because it did not cover data of services at Subsidiary Health Centers (SHC) and Village Health Posts (VHP). The lateness of services was related to a funding procedure. HCMIS at Purworejo DHO was equal to Generic SIKDA but it had not been used to make a decision. As a suggestion, DHO needs to conduct training, monitor, and provide hardware and a network. Meanwhile, Health Centers needs to make a commitment for applying the HCMIS maximally by SHC and VHP.

A direct linear plot was applied to estimate kinetic constants using the product’s competitive inhibition equation. The challenge consisted of estimating three kinetic constants, Vmax, Km, and Kp, using two independent variables, substrates, and product concentrations, in just one stage of mathematical treatment. The method consisted of combining three initial reaction rate data and avoiding the use of the same three product concentrations (otherwise, this would result in a mathematical indetermination). The direct linear plot method was highly superior to the least-squares method in terms of accuracy and robustness, even under the addition of error. The direct linear plot method is a reliable and robust method that can be applied to estimate Kp in inhibition studies in pharmaceutical and biotechnological areas.

38 Background: Clear communication between patients and providers is imperative to maximize patient outcomes, particularly for patients with incurable cancer who require prompt engagement in decision-making. In response to the need to engage in quality patient-centered communication, an interprofessional team, representing medicine, nursing, social work, and spiritual care developed a simple, single-page tool that summarizes the prognosis and treatment plan for patients with incurable cancers. This pilot study evaluates the communication guide, Communicating Oncologic Prognosis with Empathy (COPE), for discussing prognosis and treatment options for cancer patients. Methods: A pilot test of 30 participants with incurable cancer was completed at an oncology clinic. The communication guide was evaluated using a pre- and post-test design, participants completed a prognosis and treatment perception survey (PTPQ) prior to their first oncology appointment. Patients then met with their oncologist and the COPE guide was used to guide the discussion and patients received a copy of the COPE guide. The COPE guide was placed in the patient chart and other members of the healthcare team were able to use the tool to provide the patient with support and explore the patient’s response to information received. Patients completed the post-test PTPQ at 4 week follow up and completed exit interviews to assess patient reported impact on communication with medical team, caregivers, and quality of life. Results: Key findings revealed participants prefer receiving detailed information about prognosis and have differing perceptions about goals of treatment compared to the oncology team. The tool seemed to facilitate mostly accurate information recall regarding prognosis and treatment options. Conclusions: Despite the high value patients placed on knowing about prognosis and quality of communication with their medical team, the majority reported incongruent goals of treatment and likelihood of cure compared with their oncologist, highlighting major gaps in patients’ understanding of their prognosis. The COPE guide serves as a promising mechanism to enhance patient-centered communication about prognosis and treatment for patients with incurable cancer.
