Cl3Ti[N(SiMe2Cl)(SiMe2NH2)] is yielded by reaction of TiCl4 with two molecules ClMe2SiNHSiMe3. A single crystal structure determination (P 21/n, a = 747.12(2), b = 1294.1(3), c = 1496.7(3) pm, β = 90.30(3)°, Z = 4) shows a planar four-membered ring Ti-N-Si-N as the central feature of the monomers formed by a weak coordinative bond of the NH2 group to the Ti atoms. The monomers are connected to give dimers via two Cl bridges linked to the Ti atoms.

Using NiCl2 and NaOH as raw materials, stacked Ni(OH)2 hexagonal nanoplates with different edge lengths were prepared in a large scale by a simple hydrothermal route. The stacked Ni(OH)2 structure was composed of a certain amount of parallel Ni(OH)2 hexagonal nanoplates along the (001) direction. Each parallel Ni(OH)2 nanoplate had a single-crystal structure, and the exposed planes were (001), (00−1), and (100). The formation mechanism of the stacked Ni(OH)2 structures was discussed on the basis of the Ni(OH)2 crystal structure.

A new diffraction pattern of the high-temperature and high-pressure polymorph Mg3(PO4)2-III (PDF 43-500) is given and indexed on the basis of a single-crystal structure refinement. It allows diffractogram indexing of the isostructural high-temperature and high-pressure form of Co3(PO4)2 (PDF 43-499).
