The crystal and molecular structure of the title compound (C8H16N2NiS4) was solved by the heavy atom method and the structure was refined anisotropically to a final R factor of R = 0.029 (wR = 0.037) for 715 observed reflections. The crystal is monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 948.3(2), b = 776.9(2), c = 1 167.4(2) pm, β = 125.14(2)°, Z = 2. The molecule contains two four-membered NiSCS rings of approximately planar configuration with the Ni atom situated at a centre of symmetry. The molecules are arranged in chains along the c-axis of the unit cell.

A stoichiometric complex of formula (COOH)2•2H2O•18-crown-6 has been obtained from oxalic acid and the macrocyclic polyether 18-crown-6. The crystals of the complex have a monoclinic unit cell and belong to the P21/c space group. The components in the adduct are linked through hydrogen bonds in a polymer-like fashion: -crown–H2O–HOOCCOOH–OH2–crown–, where the oxalic acid molecules are present in two distinct disordered orientations. The infrared and Raman spectra of the complex are also reported and interpreted.

The structure of 1,1-bis(diphenylphosphino)-2,2-dimethylhydrazine, [(C6H5)2P]2NN(CH3)2 has been determined crystallographically. The compound crystallizes from n-heptane in the space group P21/c with a = 8.910(1), b = 9.686(1), c = 27.489(4) Å, and β = 102.94(2)° with four molecules per unit cell. The structure was solved from 2669 independent reflections with I > 3σ(I) and refined by block diagonal least squares methods to R = 0.032 and Rω = 0.048. Each diphenylphosphino group is bonded to the same hydrazine nitrogen and the geometry about this nitrogen is nearly planar. The average dimensions of the structure are P—C = 1.828 ± 0.005, P—N = 1.715 ± 0.014, N—N = 1.451, and N—C = 1.457 ± 0.003 Å, [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text].

Abstract N-(Trichlorogermyl)trimethylphosphinimine crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1̅ with a = 12.49(2), b = 12.54(3), c = 6.66(1) Å,a = 100.96(10),β = 91.45(14), γ = 102.77(15)°. The structure was solved by Patterson and difference syntheses and refined to R = 0.063 for 2867 independent reflections. In the unit cell there are two symmetry related monomers containing tetracoordinated Ge and one crystallographically centrosymmetric dimer with a planar four-membered [GeN]2 ring exhibiting trigonal-bipyramidal pentacoordinated Ge and trigonal N. Significant differences are observed in the bond lengths from pentacoordinated Ge to its equatorial and axial ligands: Ge-Neq 1.837(7), Ge-Nax 1.972(7), Ge-Cleq 2.176(2) and 2.170(2), Ge-Clax 2.345(3) Å. The Ge-Neq distance is similar to that observed in tetracoordinated derivatives [1.81-1.87 Å], whereas the Ge-Nax distance is 0.22 Å shorter than that observed for the axial N→Ge coordinate bond in hitherto known pentacoordinated derivatives [2.19-2.24 Å]. The very short Ge-N bond length of 1.737(8) Å in the monomer which is 0.07 Å shorter than in other tetracoordinated derivatives may be indicative of the involvement of a (p→d)π component.

Crystal and molecular structure of nickel(II) dimethyldithiocarbamate, Ni[S2CN(CH3)2]2 was solved by X-ray structural analysis and refined by the least squares method to R = 0.06 for 1065 reflections. The compound crystallizes in a space group P I and the triclinic unit cell has the dimensions: a = 6.521 (7), b = 6.798 (9), c = 7.633 (4), α = 67.21 (8)°, β = 67.34 (6)° γ =85.59 (9)°. The experimentally observed density is 1.75 g cm-3 and the calculated value for Z = 1 is 1.73 g cm-3. In the structure , the Ni atom occupies a special position in the centre of symmetry and is coordinated by four sulphur atoms in a plane: Ni-S 0.2218 (4) and 0.2198 nm S1-Ni-S2 angle 79.62 (8)°. The ligand S2CNC2 is nearly planar.

The nickel(II) chelate of salicylidenethiosemicarbazone ammine-C8H7N3OSNi.NH3 crystallizes in a monoclinic system. The lattice parameters are: a = 6.857(2), b = 9.763(2), c = 15.340(4) .10-10 m, β = 90.34(2)° and the volume of the unit cell V = 1027(1) . 10-30 m3; the specific weight was measured as dm = 1.76 Mg m-3 and calculated as dc = 1.74 Mg m-3. The number of formula units in the unit cell, Z = 4, and the symmetry space group is P21/c.

The crystal and molecular structure of β-bromo(diethylaminoethanolato)copper(II) has been determined from three dimensional X-ray diffractometer data. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group Pï with one dimer in a unit cell of dimensions α=10.180(II), b=7.999(9), c=6.227(7) Å and a=110.69(4), β=103.12(4), γ=73.82(4)[°]. The structure was refined by least-squares methods using 1944 independent reflexions to give a final R-index of 0,05. The molecule consists of dimeric Cu2O2-units with Cu—O distances of 1.900(4) Å and 1.914(4) A, respectively. The dimers are additional bridged by bromines, so that a “polymeric” structure results; Cu—Br distances are 2.357(2) and 3.660(2) A, respectively. The Cu—Cu distances are 3.003(2) (oxygen bridges) and 4.506(2) Å (bromine bridges).
