LiGd5P2O13 : Eu3+ red phosphors were prepared by solid-state reaction method. Phosphors could be efficiently excited by NUV/blue light and emit pure-red light. LiGd5P2O13 : Eu3+ shows good thermal stability with quantum yield of 46.5%.

The Relationship

Na-doped lithium metatitanate (Na-doped Li2TiO3) absorbent was doped with Na2CO3and lithium metatitanate (Li2TiO3) was prepared by a solid-state reaction method from mixture of TiO2and Li2CO3. The Na-doped lithium metatitanate was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and surface area. Carbon dioxide absorption on Na-doped lithium metatitanate was investigated using TG-DTA. The results reveal an increase of the CO2absorption capacity of the Na-doped materials with respect to pure Li2TiO3. XRD patterns of the doped samples suggest a limited substitution of Li by Na atoms within the Li2TiO3structure. The results of experimental and modeling work were summarized to better understand the relationship between the sorbent microstructure and carbon dioxide absorption kinetics.

(1-x)(Ca0.61Nd0.26)TiO3-x(Li0.5Sm0.5)TiO3 (0.2 ≤ x ≤ 0.7) ceramics were prepared by solid-state reaction method and the microwave dielectric properties of the resultant materials at different (Li0.5Sm0.5)TiO3 contents were investigated. A single phase of perovskite in all samples was confirmed by XRD patterns. With increasing (Li0.5Sm0.5)TiO3 content, Q×f value and dielectric constant (εr) decrease slightly and the temperature coefficients of the resonant frequency (τf) of the specimens decreases noticeably. The optimum parameters, i.e.,εr = 109, Q×f = 5259 GHz and τf = ~0 ppm/°C, for the composition of 0.4(Ca0.61Nd0.26)TiO3-0.6(Li0.5Sm0.5)TiO3 was obtained when keep the calcination temperature at 1250°C for 3 h.

Oxide ceramic is a kind of environmental friendly materials, which has attracted more and more interests for its bunch of advantages such as sound chemical, thermal stability, simple synthetic process, cheap price, harmless and safety. Therefore, Oxide ceramic will be a promising material in the future. In this work, polycrystalline samples of CuAlO2 were prepared by a solid state reaction method. The mixture of pure CuO and Al2O3 powders was firstly pressed under the pressure of 60 MPa, and then 200 MPa to prepare pellets of 5 mm thick and 10 mm in diameter. The green compacts were sintered at five different temperatures (1273 K, 1323 K, 1373 K, 1423 K, 1473 K) for various holding times (5 h, 10 h and 15 h) in the air and then the furnace cooled. The crystalline and microstructures of the sintered CuAlO2 bodies were detected by XRD and SEM. The properties of density, thermal conductivity were also investigated in detail. The experimental results show that CuAlO2 bodies were rhombohedral, belonging to R3m space group. It is found that the density and the thermal conductivity of CuAlO2 ceramics were significantly dependent on the sintering temperatures. The density and thermal conductivity increased with increasing the sintering temperatures. The thermal conductivity of samples sintered at 1273 and 1473 K with the same holding time (10 h) were 9.70 and 35.53 W/mk at the room temperature, 3.41 and 8.29 W/mk at 1100 K, respectively.

Bi4Ti3-xNbxO12+x/2 (BNT) ceramics were prepared by a solid-state reaction method. Effects of Nb doping on dielectric and ferroelectric properties of BNT were investigated. XRD patterns show that Nb5+ substitutions do not change the phase structure. With the increase of Nb doping, dielectric constant and Curie temperature decrease gradually. At the same time, dielectric loss peaks become flatter and dielectric losses become smaller due to the decrease of oxygen vacancies derived from the introduction of Nb5+ at Ti4+ site in BNT. Remanent polarization Pr and coercive field EC of BNT ceramics are both larger than those of BIT without Nb doping. With the increase of Nb doping from 0 to 0.045, Pr increases to the largest value of 17 μC/cm2 and EC decreases to the lowest value of 87 kV/cm, but Pr will decrease when Nb doping content is over 0.045.
