In this study, the goose meat was used as raw material and the formula of composite tender agent was optimized by Response Surface Methodology. Goose breast meat were soaked with exogenous protease of plants, phosphate and Ca2+ for 3 hours at 2 °C. The influence of different composite tender agent on the water-holding capacity was examined by statistical response surface methodology (RSM). The result showed that papain 6.16 U/g, compound phosphate 0.308 % and calcium chloride 0.133 % was helpful to increase the tenderization of goose breast. The results of our study would be used to improve the tenderness of goose meat and increase economic efficiency of goose industry.

In this study, a high-efficient snow-dissolving agent with coloration function was made, the main raw material was calcium chloride (CaCl2).The advantage of this agent was that we could control the spreading dosage according to the color change. The optimal proportion of the raw materials was obtained through experiment. The experimental results show: the ice melting amount of homemade snow-dissolving agent increased with time ; homemade snow-dissolving agent had the best effect on snow melting compared with CaCl2,NaCl and commercial snow-dissolving agent.

This article took the sodium sulfate and calcium chloride as the raw material and prepared calcium sulfate whiskers by hydrothermal method. The experimental results show that the calcium sulfate precursors are prepared by the reverse feed mode in which the sodium sulfate solution drop into the calcium chloride solution under the solution concentration 0.6 mol/L and the molar ratio of Na2SO4 to CaCl2 at 1:1.8. The precursors were placed in pH=6.12 hydrothermal environments and treated in the autoclave at 140 °C for 4 h to obtain the calcium sulfate whiskers having for the ratio of length to diameter at 97.5 and the better morphology.

Abstract Aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of supplementation of high gravity media with mineral compounds and myo-inositol, at concentration which would be obtained as a result of degradation of phytates present in raw material during alcoholic fermentation. The process of alcoholic fermentation was conducted under laboratory conditions in a 72 h system at 37°C with the use of S. cerevisiae D-2 strain. Calcium chloride proved to be the most effective of all supplements tested. Final ethanol concentration increased by 1.2% v v−1 and the yield of process increased by ca. 7 dm−3 ethanol 100 kg−1 of starch in comparison with control. Selective supplementation with KH2PO4, ZnSO4 and MgSO4 also increased the ethanol concentration, but the effect was accompanied by a deterioration in composition of volatile products. The hydrolysis of phytate complexes with microbial phytases can be an alternative solution to supplementation of HG mashes presented in this work.

Purple shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is one of the most tropical agricultural crop widely used as a food seasoning. It is a highly commercial and important commodity by the food industry, not only based on its economic value but also the bioactive compounds. Pretreatment is widely used before processing of agro-products to improve the quality of these products. In this study, the influences of the pretreatment were conducted by the combination of mild temperature ranging from 45 to 55°C and different concentrations of calcium chloride (from 0.25 to 0.75%) on the quality of raw purple shallot used for further study (e.g. freeze-drying and pickling). The samples were analyzed for the firmness, bioactive compounds (total phenolic, total flavonoid and quercetin content) and antioxidant activity. The results showed that mild water temperature and calcium chloride concentration were influent on the firmness and bioactive compounds of raw material. The addition of calcium can enhance the beneficial action of mild heat treatments on sensory properties of purple shallot. The optimal conditions of the process were stabilized with the desired function, obtained at 50°C of mild hot water temperature dipping and 0.64% of calcium chloride concentration.

Using the desulfurization gypsum as raw material and the atmospheric acidification method, prepared desulfurization gypsum whisker, Studied water gypsum ratio, crystallization agent on properties of gypsum whiskers. Researchs show that, when the water gypsum ratio is 57.14%, the average ratio of length to diameter reaches the maximum value is 41.1; when using calcium chloride and Magnesium sulfate (the quality of various additives in the desulfurization gypsum quality accounted for 2%), the best effect, the ratio of length to diameter is 42.9.

An experimental study on the performance of calcium chloride-ammonia adsorption system is described. A single bed water cooled condenser adsorption refrigerator prototype, which utilises calcium chloride-ammonia pair has been developed and tested in the laboratory. Experiments have been conducted for desorption temperatures of 100 °C with desorption time varying from 1 to 4 hours. An electric tape heater and a timer were used to perform the experiments. The adsorption temperature profile, adsorption rate and prototype performance have been analysed and discussed. The tested heating and desorption temperature of 100 °C and heating and desorption time of 1 to 4 hours was able to create a cooling effect of the cold chamber of the prototype of between -0.8 to 8.3 °C, which is adequate for vaccine storage requirement of 2 to 8 °C. The estimated Coefficient of Performance of the system ranges between 0.025 and 0. 076.

The content and structure of mental representation of economic crises were studied and the flexibility of the structure in different social contexts was tested. Italian and Swiss samples (Total N = 98) were compared with respect to their judgments as to how a series of concrete examples of events representing abstract indicators were relevant symptoms of economic crisis. Mental representations were derived using a cluster procedure. Results showed that the relevance of the indicators varied as a function of national context. The growth of unemployment was judged to be by far the most important symptom of an economic crisis but the Swiss sample judged bankruptcies as more symptomatic than Italians who considered inflation, raw material prices and external accounts to be more relevant. A different clustering structure was found for the two samples: the locations of unemployment and gross domestic production indicators were the main differences in representations.
