When pulp and minerals are co-processed in aqueous suspension, the mineral acts as a grinding aid, facilitating the cost-effective production of fibrils. Furthermore, this processing allows the utilization of robust industrial milling equipment. There are 40000 dry metric tons of mineral/microfbrillated (MFC) cellulose composite production capacity in operation across three continents. These mineral/MFC products have been cleared by the FDA for use as a dry and wet strength agent in coated and uncoated food contact paper and paperboard applications. We have previously reported that use of these mineral/MFC composite materials in fiber-based applications allows generally improved wet and dry mechanical properties with concomitant opportunities for cost savings, property improvements, or grade developments and that the materials can be prepared using a range of fibers and minerals. Here, we: (1) report the development of new products that offer improved performance, (2) compare the performance of these new materials with that of a range of other nanocellulosic material types, (3) illustrate the performance of these new materials in reinforcement (paper and board) and viscosification applications, and (4) discuss product form requirements for different applications.

Aim and Objective: The reaction of cyclohexylisocyanide and 2-aminopyridine-3- carboxylic acid in the presence of benzaldehyde derivatives in ethanol led to 3-(cyclohexylamino)-2- arylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-8-carboxylic acids in high yields. In a three component condensation reaction, isocyanide reacts with 2-aminopyridine-3-carboxylic acid and aromatic aldehydes without any prior activation. Material and Methods: The synthesized products have stable structures which have been characterized by IR, 1H, 13C and Mass spectroscopy as well as CHN-O analysis. Results: In continuation of our attempts to develop simple one-pot routes for the synthesis of 3- (cyclohexylamino)-2-arylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-8-carboxylic acids, aromatic aldehydes with divers substituted show a high performance. Conclusion: In conclusion, this study introduces the art of combinatorial chemistry using a simple one-pot procedure for the synthesis of new materials which are interesting compounds in medicinal and biological sciences.

We fabricated a lateral photovoltaic device for use as infrared to terahertz (THz) detectors by chemically depositing PbS films on titanium substrates. We discussed the material properties of PbS films grown on glass with varying deposition conditions. PbS was deposited on Ti substrates and by taking advantage of the Ti/PbS Schottky junction, we discussed the photocurrent transients as well as the room temperature spectrum response measured by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer. Our photovoltaic PbS device operates at room temperature for wavelength ranges up to 50 µm, which is in the terahertz region, making the device highly applicable in many fields.

AbstractPotentially n-type and p-type semi-conducting discotic liquid crystal dyes are linked together to star-shaped heptamers, which might self-organize into super-columns of separated p-type and n-type columnar stacks. Their synthesis, mesomorphism, and electronic properties will be discussed along with their potential use in photovoltaic devices.

Human Performance Work System is an important part of every organization. It not only manages the system practices for employees but is also dedicated towards employee effectiveness. There are some factors which might be effective towards organizational performance. For example, employee’s performance is the most important part of an organization’s success, relationship between employee and supervisor, sales growth, voluntary turnover, knowledge sharing behavior, employee attitude, and effect on top performers. This literature review reveals that all the factors mentioned above are helpful in contributing towards making organizational performance better except voluntary turnover.
