Eukaryotic genes are regulated by multivalent transcription factor complexes. Through cooperative self-assembly, these complexes perform nonlinear regulatory operations involved in cellular decision-making and signal processing. In this study, we apply this design principle to synthetic networks, testing whether engineered cooperative assemblies can program nonlinear gene circuit behavior in yeast. Using a model-guided approach, we show that specifying the strength and number of assembly subunits enables predictive tuning between linear and nonlinear regulatory responses for single- and multi-input circuits. We demonstrate that assemblies can be adjusted to control circuit dynamics. We harness this capability to engineer circuits that perform dynamic filtering, enabling frequency-dependent decoding in cell populations. Programmable cooperative assembly provides a versatile way to tune the nonlinearity of network connections, markedly expanding the engineerable behaviors available to synthetic circuits.

An ethynylene-bridged zinc porphyrin dimer bearing metal-coordinating groups, such as bis[{5-(4-pyridyl)-15-(3,5-didodecyloxyphenyl)porphyrinato}zinc] Z2, self-assembles in CHCl 3 to form a rectangular-shaped supramolecular nano box, in which all the Z2 units preferentially adopt a planar conformation with a syn-parallel geometry as for the pyridyl groups.

We have shown that various Zinc porphyrin-based nanostructures can be easily synthesized by a surfactant-assisted self-assembly method, where nonionic, anionic and cationic surfactants are employed. It was found that tuning the type of surfactant offered an alternative to promote the formation of Zinc porphyrin nanostructure with different morphologies in aqueous solutions. As-prepared nano-scale self-assemblies, including disc-shaped, ellipsoid, square and quadrangular pyramidal nanoparticles, were investigated in solution via UV/vis, fluorescence spectroscopy and SEM microscopy. The different UV/vis as well as fluorescent spectra between nano-porphyrin and its monomer further conformed that the nano-crystallization of porphyrin would result in novel optical properties differing from the single subunits.

AbstractA numerical number associated to the molecular graphGthat describes its molecular topology is called topological index. In the study ofQSARandQSPR, topological indices such as atom-bond connectivity index, Randić connectivity index, geometric index, etc. help to predict many physico-chemical properties of the chemical compound under study. Dendrimers are macromolecules and have many applications in chemistry, especially in self-assembly procedures and host-guest reactions. The aim of this report is to compute degree-based topological indices, namely the fourth atom-bond connectivity index and fifth geometric arithmetic index of poly propyl ether imine, zinc porphyrin, and porphyrin dendrimers.

AbstractThe synthesis of silicate/surfactant mesophases is driven by cooperative assembly of organic surfactant and inorganic silicate species, and the resultant mesophase morphology can be controlled by synthesis conditions (i.e., CTAB concentration in precursor solution and SiO2- CTAB mole ratio). The self-assembly process of these mesophases is driven complexation of the polyanionic silicate species with several CTAB cations to form a multi-tailed surfactant. One of these mesophases is a novel rippled lamellar phase in which the ripple wavelength and lamellar spacing are similar to the hexagonal mesophase rod center-to-center spacing; each of these dimensions are consistent with the length of two CTAB molecules.

DABCO (1, 4-diazabicyclo [2.2.2] octane) has been used in combination with pentameric zinc porphyrin-pyrene array 1 to form well-defined supramolecular arrays through axial coordination. The self-assembly process has been investigated by a wide range of spectroscopic methods including UV-vis, fluorescence emission and 1H NMR techniques.
