HIV infections are prevalent among adolescents and young adults, of whom 44% remain unaware of their diagnosis. HIV screening presents numerous challenges including stigma, fear, and concerns about confidentiality, which may influence young people’s acceptance of HIV screening and linkage to care differently from individuals in other age groups. It is imperative to understand which care delivery models are most effective in facilitating these services for youth. This systematic review analyzes the rates of HIV test acceptance and linkage to care by care delivery model for adolescents and young adults. Studies were classified into emergency department (ED), primary care/inpatient setting, community-based program, or sexually transmitted infection clinic models of care. From 6395 studies initially identified, 59 met criteria for inclusion in the final analyses. Rate of test acceptance and linkage to care were stratified by model of care delivery, gender, race, age ranges (13–17, 18–24 years) as well as site (North America vs rest of the world). A significant difference in acceptance of HIV testing was found between care models, with high rates of test acceptance in the ED setting in North America and primary care/hospital setting in the rest of the world. Similarly, linkage to care differed by model of care, with EDs having high rates of linkages to HIV care in North America. Future studies are needed to test mechanisms for optimizing outcomes for each care delivery model in addressing the unique challenges faced by adolescents and young adults.

Introduction - Myopia is the most common Refractive error of the eye seen in children and young adults and it has become more prevalent in recent years and is a cause of concern the world over. Myopia commonly referred to as near or shortsightedness. Some of the clinical features of Vataja Timira can be correlated with Myopia. Timira is counted under the Drishtigata Rogas [1] described by Sushruta. Timira involving first and second patala in terms of symptoms, anatomical structures involved and the pathogenesis of the disease. Timira begins with the blurring of vision gradually leading to the deterioration of eyesight. Shastrokta lakshanas of Vatika Timira such as bhramantiva sa pashyati, aavil darshan, vyaavidha darshan, aruna darshan [2]. Materials and Methods - A 20-year-old male, came to Shalakya Tantra OPD in National Institute of Ayurveda, deemed to be University Jaipur (R.J.), with chief complaints of defective vision for distance in both eyes, pain in both eyes and watering from both eyes since 4 months. He was treated with Nasya, Netra Pariseka, one sitting of Tarpana, Triphala guggulu, Patoladi eyedrops and Netramritam eyedrops. Result - At the end of the study, improvement in the visual acuity in both eyes, improvement in pain in both eyes and watering from both eyes have reduced. Conclusion -Thus, it can be concluded that Ayurvedic treatments are helpful to control Myopia. Keywords: Myopia, Nasya, Tarpana, Netra pariseka, Timira, Triphala Guggulu.

In developed countries, the leading causes of blindness such as diabetic retinopathy are characterized by disorganized vasculature that can become fibrotic. Although many such pathological vessels often naturally regress and spare sight-threatening complications, the underlying mechanisms remain unknown. Here, we used orthogonal approaches in human patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy and a mouse model of ischemic retinopathies to identify an unconventional role for neutrophils in vascular remodeling during late-stage sterile inflammation. Senescent vasculature released a secretome that attracted neutrophils and triggered the production of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs). NETs ultimately cleared diseased endothelial cells and remodeled unhealthy vessels. Genetic or pharmacological inhibition of NETosis prevented the regression of senescent vessels and prolonged disease. Thus, clearance of senescent retinal blood vessels leads to reparative vascular remodeling.

Suicide is a leading cause of death among young adults. About a million suicides occur annually throughout the world. A suicide note is often found at the scene. It has been reported that a note was left in 5%-43% of the suicides (1). The content of a suicide note includesapology, shame, guilt, love for those left behind and instruction regarding practical affairs (2). It is an important tool for medico-legal investigation on the manner and circumstances surrounding the death. The victim generally writes them on a paper, notebook, wall, or mirror by means of pen or marker (3). We present a case where asuicide note was recovered from the ligature itself. This method of keeping a suicide note in the ligature is unique and rarely found in the literature.
