We report the synthesis of trinuclear Ni clusters supported by a tetraanionic trisphenolphosphinimde ligand. The [Ni3(O3PN)2]2− cluster is oxidized at low potentials to form the [Ni3(O3PN)2]− species, featuring NiIII with proximal metal arrangement.
