Ternary CuInS2 quantum dots (QDs) with homogeneous and tunable emission ranging from 693 to 835 nm were synthesized via a one-pot thermolysis route. The fluorescence of CuInS2 QDs was greatly enhanced via surface passivation of ZnS layers.
