In aqueous solution of 0.5M H2SO4, the Annona Squamosa extract was systematically analyzed to ensure its inhibition mechanism by using potentiodynamics polarization, the weight loss method, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and its inhibitory effect on mild steel corrosion. For mild steel corrosion in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution, its inhibition efficiency increases and decreases with an increase in its concentration and temperature, respectively. Potentiodynamic polarization analyses revealed that the Annona Squamosa behaves as a cathodic inhibitor. In presence of Annona Squamosa extract in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution, an increase in the activation energy of corrosion leads to a decrease in the rate of mild steel corrosion. On mild steel surfaces, the adsorption behaviour of the extract conformed to the Temkin isotherm, Langmuir isotherm and Arrhenius equation. The EIS results were correlated with the polarization findings. According to atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the inhibition of mild steel corrosion proceeds through the adsorption of the extract on the mild steel surface.

AISI 1070 steel is a material that has corrosion when it reacts with the environment. One way to inhibit the corrosion rate is by using organic inhibitors. The organic inhibitors used mango leaves and mango rinds with variations in the concentration of organic inhibitors of 0%, 6%, and 8%, respectively. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of mango leaf extract and mango rinds as an inhibitor against the corrosion rate of AISI 1070 Steel. The extraction was carried out using the Maceration Method. Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Potenzyodinamic, and Weight Loss tests were carried out in this study.  FTIR results show that both mango rinds and mango leaf have ingredients that were able to inhibit the corrosion rate, such as flavonoid functional groups including C – H, C = O, and C – O. Using the weight-loss method, the best corrosion rate was found in the mango rinds extract with a concentration of 8 mL, which was 31.784 mm/year with an inhibition efficiency of 92%. The highest corrosion rate was in 2M H2SO4 solution using potentiodynamic, without a mixture of inhibitors, that is 0.15589478 mm/year.

This research is intended to learn inhibition efficiency of mild steel corrosion in peat water using two type ofchitosan. First chitosan is without treatment and the second one is synthesized by ionotropic gelation method andthen is characterized by Fourier transform Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).Diameter of chitosan porous is about 500 nm which is measured based on morphological photo using SEM withinhomogeneous porous shape and porous distribution is unsmooth . Effect of chitin and chitosan on the corrosionof mild steel in peat water is studied using weight loss method. It is found that corrosion inhibition efficiencydepends on peat water pH, inhibition technique and interaction time. The results show that inhibition efficiency ofchitosan without treatment and with treatment are 88.73% and 93.32% respectively. The inhibition is assumed tooccur via physicsorption of the chitin and chitosan molecules on the metal surface. The Langmuir adsorptionisotherm is tested for their fit to the experimental data.

<p class="PaperAbstract"><span lang="EN-US">Corrosion of metals is a common problem which requires definite attention. In response to this, the oil was extracted from the seed of </span><span lang="EN-US">Terminalia catappa</span><span lang="EN-US"> and used to synthesize sucrose fatty esters via simple reaction mechanism which was considered eco-friendly and sustainable. The corrosion inhibition capacity of sucrose fatty esters for mild steel in 1 M HCl was studied using the weight loss method. It was shown that sucrose fatty ester inhibited corrosion process of mild steel and obeyed Langmuir isotherm. Corrosion rate and inhibition efficiency of sucrose fatty esters were found to reduce with increase of immersion time. The study presented sucrose fatty ester as a promising inhibitor of mild steel corrosion in acidic medium.</span></p>

AbstractGongronema latifolium was used as a low-cost green inhibitor for mild steel by applying the weight loss method at 303–323 K. There was a decrease in percentage inhibition with temperature increase and a rise in inhibition efficiency with an increase in the concentration of inhibitor. The obtained results showed that Gongronema latifolium extract of methanol had percentage inhibition efficiencies in the range of 59.06–81.69%. Corrosion inhibition of mild steel showed a good fit to the Langmuir model compared to the Freundlich and El-Awardy adsorption models. Thermodynamics parameters, such as $$ E_{\text{a}} $$ E a , $$ Q_{\text{ads}} $$ Q ads and $$ \Delta G_{\text{ads}} $$ Δ G ads were evaluated and showed that the mechanism of corrosion inhibition of mild steel by methanol extract of Gongronema latifolium was physisorption. The results of this work indicated efficient potentials of the methanol extract of Gongronema latifolium as a low-cost corrosion inhibitor in acidic media for mild steel, which could be applied to reduce corrosion of metals in industries.

Corrosion behavior of mild steel in acidic medium usingAdhatoda Vasica(AV) extract was investigated. The inhibitive effective ofAdhatoda Vasicaon the corrosion of mild steel in different acidic medium has been studied by weight loss and polarization methods. The Ecorrvalues are shifted slightly towards negative side in presence of inhibitors which indicate the inhibitors inhibit the corrosion of mild steel in acids solution by controlling both anodic and cathodic reactions due to the blocking of active sites on the metal surface. It is evident that inhibitors bring about considerable polarization of the cathode as well as anode. It was, therefore, inferred that the inhibitive action is of mixed type.
