Abstract Eichhornia crassipes (Water hyacinth) is considered as a hazardous weed in numerous places of the world. Despite of its harmful effects, the weed offers potential substrate for production of monetarily industrial important and value added products. In the present study, an eco-friendly bioconversion or biotransformation of processed water hyacinth biomass (WHB) into high efficiency fuel, adsorbent for brewery industry waste water treatment coupled methylene blue dye, biofertilizer and nutrient media for viable inoculam production of fungal biopesticide Nomuraea rileyi was carried out adopting green science in situ principles. Bioconversion of the WHB was initiated by alkali treatment which brought about notable differences in physical texture and chemical composition. Pre-treated WHB was enzymatically hydrolysed into soluble simple sugars followed by fermentation of the sugar into ethanol with 65.2 % total yield with 77.3 g/l final concentration. Batch studies reveals that WHB brought about effective reduction of various physicio chemical properties and notable adsorption efficacy. Plant growth promoting effect was studied using green gram (Vigna mungo). Green gram grew on soil under pot culture technique inoculated with WHB uncovers imperative plant growth promotion effect. Culture medium prepared from reconstituted WHB supported viable inoculum production of potential fungal biopesticide Beauveria bassiana. Fungal inoculum derived from the WHB based culture medium was effective against larval instars of castor semi-looper Achaea janata in terms of high mortality.The present examination uncovers the conceivable viable bioconversion of water hyacinth biomass (WHB) into different worth included vitality, ecological as gives a green procedure to cleaner production and the executives of aquatic invasive weeds.

Eichhornia crassipes is well-known as water hyacinth. Water hyacinth grows rapidly in the nutrient-rich water and high light intensity places. The uncontrollable growth of water hyacinth has caused many negative impacts to the environment. For instance, interrupted water transport and decreased population of aquatic lives. The capacity of utilising water hyacinth is slower than water hyacinth growth and water hyacinth is still considered as a threat to theecosystem. This work was focused on the study of the pharmacological activity and heavy metal content of water hyacinth in Lake Cipondoh, Tangerang. Fresh water hyacinth was pre-treated through oven-drying and milling process. After that, each part of the plant was macerated by using multiple extraction method with 96% ethanol/water and three variations of sample-to-solvent ratios (1:30, 1:50, and 1:75 w/v). The result of the experiment showed thatwater hyacinth leaves produced an extract with lowest IC 50 (55.76 ± 6.73 ppm) compared toother parts. The most optimum solvent used to achieve this result was 96% ethanol/water (1:1 v/v). In order to obtain the lowest antioxidant activity, the sample to solvent ratio used was 1:50 and the heavy metal in the extract was very low. With this result, it was concluded that there is a promising opportunity to apply the water hyacinth growing in Lake Cipondoh, Tangerang as herbal medicine ingredient. Through this utilization, the overall number of water hyacinth in Indonesia can be reduced or at the least be controlled, so that the environmental problem caused by this plant can be minimized.

The European Commission defines the bioeconomy as "the production of renewable biological resources and the conversion of these resources and waste streams into value added products, such as food, feed, bio-based products and bioenergy. Its sectors and industries have strong innovation potential due to their use of a wide range of sciences, enabling and industrial technologies, along with local and implied knowledge." The Bulgarian food industry faces a lot of challenges on the local and national level, which have direct influence on the structure of the production companies. Most of the enterprises from the food sector produce under foreign brands in order to be flexible partners to the large Bulgarian retail chains. The small companies from the food sector are not able to develop as an independent competitive producer on the territory of their local markets. This kind of companies rarely has a working strategy for positioning on new markets. In order to consolidate their already built positions for long period of time, the producers are trying to optimize their operations in a short term. However, the unclear vision of the companies for the business segment does not allow them to fully develop. Tourism in Bulgaria is a significant contributor to the country's economy.
