Benefitting from the high specific capacity (793 C g−1) of the FeS2/graphene anode, an assembled all-solid-state hybrid supercapacitor device based on the FeS2/graphene anode and a Ni(OH)2@Co9S8 cathode achieves an ultrahigh energy density of up to 95.8 W h kg−1 at a power density of 949 W kg−1.

Platanus fruit-like nickel cobalt ammonium phosphate/MWCNTs composites for high-performance supercapacitors were successfully prepared by a two-step hydrothermal method using NiSO[Formula: see text]6H2O, CoSO[Formula: see text]7H2O, (NH4)H2PO4 and MWCNTs as raw materials, respectively. The effects of MWCNTs addition on the structure and properties of the composites were investigated. The results showed that when the doped amount of MWCNTs is 7.3[Formula: see text]wt.%, the as-prepared NCAP/M7.3 composite presented an obvious platanus fruit likeness, its surface is rough and porous with a diameter of 3–5[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]m. Compared with the other MWCNTs contents, the NCAP/M7.3 electrode obtained under this condition showed the best capacitive performance. The discharge specific capacity was up to 1270[Formula: see text]F[Formula: see text]g[Formula: see text] at current density of 1[Formula: see text]A[Formula: see text]g[Formula: see text], which remains to be 902[Formula: see text]F[Formula: see text]g[Formula: see text] even at a high density of 10[Formula: see text]A[Formula: see text]g[Formula: see text]. The results show that the target sample can be the ideal electrode material for supercapacitor.

The litchi-like Ni–Co selenide constructed Ni0.95Co2.05Se4//AC hybrid supercapacitor achieves an energy density of 37.22 W h kg−1 and a power density of 800.90 W kg−1. The ASC device can retain 95.21% of the original capacity after 4000 cycles.

AbstractAmmonium vanadate with bronze structure (NH4V4O10) is a promising cathode material for zinc-ion batteries due to its high specific capacity and low cost. However, the extraction of $${\text{NH}}_{{4}}^{ + }$$ NH 4 + at a high voltage during charge/discharge processes leads to irreversible reaction and structure degradation. In this work, partial $${\text{NH}}_{{4}}^{ + }$$ NH 4 + ions were pre-removed from NH4V4O10 through heat treatment; NH4V4O10 nanosheets were directly grown on carbon cloth through hydrothermal method. Deficient NH4V4O10 (denoted as NVO), with enlarged interlayer spacing, facilitated fast zinc ions transport and high storage capacity and ensured the highly reversible electrochemical reaction and the good stability of layered structure. The NVO nanosheets delivered a high specific capacity of 457 mAh g−1 at a current density of 100 mA g−1 and a capacity retention of 81% over 1000 cycles at 2 A g−1. The initial Coulombic efficiency of NVO could reach up to 97% compared to 85% of NH4V4O10 and maintain almost 100% during cycling, indicating the high reaction reversibility in NVO electrode.
