Abstract DEWARD is an oil-hardening, non-deforming, manganese die steel that is characterized by uniformity, good machinability and satisfactory performance in service. Its composition permits a relatively low hardening temperature to give minimum distortion after heat treatment and little danger of cracking. It has good wear resistance and gives excellent results when used for all kinds of intricate tools. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and compressive strength as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-310. Producer or source: AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation.

Accurate detection, classification and mitigation of power quality (PQ) distortive events are of utmost importance for electrical utilities and corporations. An integrated mechanism is proposed in this paper for the identification of PQ distortive events. The proposed features are extracted from the waveforms of the distortive events using modified form of Stockwell’s transform. The categories of the distortive events were determined based on these feature values by applying extreme learning machine as an intelligent classifier. The proposed methodology was tested under the influence of both the noisy and noiseless environments on a database of seven thousand five hundred simulated waveforms of distortive events which classify fifteen types of PQ events such as impulses, interruptions, sags and swells, notches, oscillatory transients, harmonics, and flickering as single stage events with their possible integrations. The results of the analysis indicated satisfactory performance of the proposed method in terms of accuracy in classifying the events in addition to its reduced sensitivity under various noisy environments.

Treatment of wastewater containing nitrocellulose (NC) fines is a significant hazardous waste problem currently facing manufacturers of energetic compounds. Previous studies have ruled out the use of biological treatment, since NC has appeared to be resistant to aerobic and anaerobic biodegradation. The objective of this study was to examine NC biotransformation in a mixed methanogenic enrichment culture. A modified cold-acid digestion technique was used to measure the percentage of oxidized nitrogen (N) remaining on the NC. After 11 days of incubation in cultures amended with NC (10 g/L) and methanol (9.9 mM), the % N (w/w) on the NC decreased from 13.3% to 10.1%. The presence of NC also caused a 16% reduction in methane output. Assuming the nitrate ester on NC was reduced to N2, the decrease in CH4 represented almost exactly the amount of reducing equivalents needed for the observed decrease in oxidized N. An increase in the heat of combustion of the transformed NC correlated with the decrease in % N. There was no statistically significant decrease in % N when only NC was added to the culture, or in controls that contained only the sulfide-reduced basal medium. The biotransformed NC has a % N comparable to nonexplosive nitrated celluloses, suggesting that anaerobic treatment may be a technically feasible process for rendering NC nonhazardous.

Wireless communications became one of the most widespread means for transferring information. Speed and reliability in transferring the piece of information are considered one of the most important requirements in communication systems in general. Moreover, Quality and reliability in any system are considered the most important criterion of the efficiency of this system in doing the task it is designed to do and its ability for satisfactory performance for a certain period of time, Therefore, we need fault tree analysis in these systems in order to determine how to detect an error or defect when happening in communication system and what are the possibilities that make this error happens. This research deals with studying TETRA system components, studying the physical layer in theory and practice, as well as studying fault tree analysis in this system, and later benefit from this study in proposing improvements to the structure of the system, which led to improve gain in Link Budget. A simulation and test have been done using MATLAB, where simulation results have shown that the built fault tree is able to detect the system’s work by 82.4%.
