In past few decades, natural fibers which are viable and abundant in nature are the emerging trends in material science as reinforcement for polymer matrix materials and they are the commute for the non-biodegradable, non-renewable and high-density synthetic fibers. Plant-based fibers such as banana, hemp, kenaf, PALF, jute, and coir has been used as reinforcement in a polymer matrix for the applications in consumer goods, furniture’s, civil and automotive structures and low-cost housing structures. The natural fibers used in this study are Hemp and Jute fibers which are finding increasing in the composite material as reinforcements. The main objective of the current work is to examine the mechanical properties of hybrid fibers (hemp and jute) reinforced epoxy composites under room temperature and at cryogenic temperature. From this study, it is clear that tensile, flexural and impact properties of polymer composites are greatly influenced by cryogenic temperature and its properties vary with respect to the extent of cryogenic treatment. The specimens are immersed in liquid nitrogen for the duration of 15, 30, 45 and 60mins and later it is subjected for tensile, flexural and impact properties. The maximum tensile strength of 21.13MPa, flexural strength of 51.95MPa and Impact strength of 8.935kJ/m2 is obtained for an untreated specimen and its value start to decrease as curing time increases. At cryogenic temperature, the material comes harder and loses its ductile property and become brittle due differ in thermal expansion coefficient of matrix and fiber material

Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite shows a great potential in the field of photoelectrics. Embedding methyl ammonium lead bromide (MAPbBr3) in a mesoporous silica (mSiO2) layer is an effective method for maintaining optical performance of MAPbBr3 at room temperature. In this work, we synthesized MAPbBr3 quantum dots, embedding them in the mSiO2 layer. The nonlinear optical responses of this composite thin film have been investigated by using the Z-scan technique at a wavelength of 800 nm. The results show plural nonlinear responses in different intensities, corresponding to one- and two-photon processing. Our results support that composites possess saturation intensity of ~27.29 GW/cm2 and varying nonlinear coefficients. The composite thin films show high stability under ultrafast laser irradiating. By employing the composite as a saturable absorber, a passively Q-switching laser has been achieved on a Nd:YVO4 all-solid-state laser platform to generate a laser at ~1 μm.

CsPbClxBr3-x nanocrystals were prepared by ligand-assisted deposition at room temperature, and their wavelength was accurately adjusted by doping TbCl3. The synthesized nanocrystals were monoclinic and the morphology was almost unchanged after doping. The fluorescence emission of CsPbClxBr3-x nanocrystals was easily controlled from green to blue by adjusting the amount of TbCl3, which realizes the continuous and accurate spectral regulation in the range of green to blue. This method provides a new scheme for fast anion exchange of all-inorganic perovskite nanocrystals in an open environment at room temperature.

Background: The unnatural levels of dopamine (DA) result in serious neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease. Electrochemical methods which have the obvious advantages of simple operation and low-cost instrumentation were widely used for determination of DA. In order to improve the measurement performance of the electrochemical sensor, molecular imprinting technique and graphene have always been employed to increase the selectivity and sensitivity. Methods: An electrochemical sensor which has specific selectivity to (DA) was proposed based on the combination of a molecular imprinting polymer (MIP) with a graphene (GR) modified gold electrode. The performance and effect of MIP film were investigated by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) in the solution of 5.0 ×10-3 mol/L K3[Fe(CN)6] and K4[Fe(CN)6] with 0.2 mol/L KCl at room temperature. Results: This fabricated sensor has well repeatability and stability, and was used to determine the dopamine of urine. Under the optimized experiment conditions, the current response of the imprinted sensor was linear to the concentration of dopamine in the range of 1.0×10-7 ~ 1.0×10-5 mol/L, the linear equation was I (µA) = 7.9824+2.7210lgc (mol/L) with the detection limit of 3.3×10-8 mol/L. Conclusion: In this work, a highly efficient sensor for determination of DA was prepared with good sensitivity by GR and great selectivity of high special recognization ability by molecular imprinting membrane. This proposed sensor was used to determine the dopamine in human urine successfully.

Recycling of acid from aqueous waste streams is crucial not only from the environmental point of view but also for maturing the feasible method (diffusion dialysis). Anion exchange membrane (AEM)–based diffusion dialysis process is one of the beneficial ways to recover acid from aqueous waste streams. In this article, the synthesis of a series of brominated poly (2, 6–dimethyl-1, 4–phenylene oxide) (BPPO)-based anion exchange membranes (AEMs) through quaternization with triphenylphosphine (TPP) were reported for acid recovery via diffusion dialysis process. The successful synthesis of the prepared membranes was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The as-synthesized anion exchange membranes represented water uptake (WR) of 44 to 66%, ion exchange capacity of (IEC) of 1.22 to 1.86 mmol/g, and linear swelling ratio (LSR) of 8 to 20%. They exhibited excellent thermal, mechanical, and acid stability. They showed homogeneous morphology. The acid recovery performance of the synthesized AEMs was investigated in a two compartment stack using simulated mixture of HCl and FeCl2 as feed solution at room temperature. For the synthesized anion exchange membranes TPP–43 to TPP–100, the diffusion dialysis coefficient of acid (UH+) was in the range of 6.7 to 26.3 (10−3 m/h) whereas separation factor (S) was in the range of 27 to 49 at 25 °C. Obtained results revealed that diffusion dialysis performance of the synthesized AEMs was higher than the commercial membrane DF–120B (UH+ = 0.004 m/h, S = 24.3) at room temperature. It showed that the prepared AEMs here could be excellent candidates for the diffusion dialysis process.
