Porous scaffolds made of biocompatible and environmental-friendly polymer fibers with diameters in the nano/micro range can find applications in a wide variety of sectors, spanning from the biomedical field to textiles and so on. Their development has received a boost in the last decades thanks to advances in the production methods, such as the electrospinning technique. Conferring antimicrobial properties to these fibrous structures is a primary requirement for many of their applications, but the addition of antimicrobial agents by wet methods can present a series of drawbacks. In this work, strong antibacterial action is successfully provided to electrospun polycaprolactone (PCL) scaffolds by silver (Ag) addition through a simple and flexible way, namely the sputtering deposition of silver onto the PCL fibers. SEM-EDS analyses demonstrate that the polymer fibers get coated by Ag nanoparticles without undergoing any alteration of their morphological integrity upon the deposition process. The influence on wettability is evaluated with polar (water) and non-polar (diiodomethane) liquids, evidencing that this coating method allows preserving the hydrophobic character of the PCL polymer. Excellent antibacterial action (reduction > 99.995% in 4 h) is demonstrated against Escherichia coli. The easy fabrication of these PCL-Ag mats can be applicable to the production of biomedical devices, bioremediation and antifouling systems in filtration, personal protective equipment (PPE), food packaging materials, etc.

Electrospinning is a process for generating micrometer or nanometer scale polymer fibers with large surface areas and high porosity. For tissue engineering research, the electrospinning technique provides a quick way to fabricate fibrous scaffolds with dimensions comparable to the extracellular matrix (ECM). A variety of materials can be used in the electrospinning process, including natural biomaterials as well as synthetic polymers. The natural biomaterials have advantages such as excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability, which can be more suitable for making biomimic scaffolds. In the last two decades, there have been growing numbers of studies of biomaterial fibrous scaffolds using the electrospinning process. In this review, we will discuss biomaterials in the electrospinning process and their applications in tissue engineering.

Synthesis of photoreactive solvent-free acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives in the recovered system The present paper discloses a novel photoreactive solvent-free acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) systems, especially suitable for the so much adhesive film applications as the double-sided, single-sided or carrier-free technical tapes, self-adhesive labels, protective films, marking and sign films and wide range of medical products. The novel photoreactive solvent-free pressure-sensitive adhesives contain no volatile organic compounds (residue monomers or organic solvent) and comply with the environment and legislation. The synthesis of this new type of acrylic PSA is conducted in common practice by solvent polymerisation. After the organic solvent are removed, there remains a non-volatile, solvent-free highly viscous material, which can be processed on a hot-melt coating machine at the temperatures of about 100 to 140°C.

A new type of cathode gas sensor based on carbon nanotube film is presented to analyze CO and CH4 mixed gas. The structure and measuring principle of breakdown voltages are proposed to build support vector machine nonlinear model. As a result, the max relative error of CO and CH4 is 3.8% and 6.0%, respectively. This hints the sensor acts an accuracy measurement.

Electrospinning technique is currently one of the most important methods for preparing nanofiber. Aiming to the fact that the electric field at the receiver is relatively weak, the electric field’s distribution in the typical electrospinning device was calculated and analyzed by ANSYS. It put forward the method of optimizing electric field’s distribution by using an assistant electric field device. At the same boundary conditions, the electric field’s distribution in the original device and improved binode device are compared. The simulation analysis provides an effective reference for the optimization design of electric field’s distribution in the electro-spinning device. The experimentation results show that the distribution of fiber diameter of polyimide non-woven fabric is equal and has a certain directivity after adding assistant electric field.

In this paper, two-component compound modifiers were used to modify sodium silicate, preparing a new type of inorganic-organic composite cold pellet binder consolidation. The dispersion of its formative adhesive films is good and the bonding ability is also high. By changing modifier ratio and addition, the information of pellet structure and composition was studied. The results showed that: when the compound modifier-component mass ratio is 1:1, adding the amount is 2%, the modified adhesive bond strength is higher, the production of pellets using compression strength up to 2.75KN / a, meeting the needs of blast furnace smelting.
