3D hierarchical porous ternary (NixFe1−x)2P microflowers grown on Ni foam exhibit excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the oxygen evolution reaction with an exceptional overpotential of 219 mV at a current density of 20 mA cm−2 in 1 M KOH and superior stability. This work paves the way to design and synthesize other TMPs for more applications.

Hierarchical Fe-doped Ni3Se4 ultrathin nanosheets are synthesized via solvothermal synthesis and a topotactic selenization process. The prepared (Ni,Fe)3Se4 ultrathin nanosheets supported on Ni foam needed an overpotential of only 225 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm−2 and a small Tafel slope of about 41 mV dec−1.
