A novel 1D Cd(ii) based coordination polymer (complex 1) has been synthesized involving an 8-aminoquinoline based Schiff base ligand and cyanate ion, which exhibits interesting photosensitive Schottky barrier diode behaviour.

A tetranuclear and a polymeric Cd(ii) complex have been synthesized and characterized. The polymeric complex based device behaves as a Schottky barrier diode and exhibits a photoswitching property.

A 1-D coordination polymer [Sm(HL)2(NO3)]n was constructed using a new flexible Schiff base ligand that has a long-chain (CH2)10 backbone, and it shows dual-emissive response to metal ions, especially to Co2+ at the ppm level.

A mixed valent heterometallic CuII/NaI coordination polymer (1) is generated by the reaction of a Schiff base ligand, (6,6′-(1E,1′E)-(2-hydroxypropane-1,3-diyl)bis(azan-1-yl-1-ylidene)bis(methan-1-yl-1-ylidene)bis(2-methoxyphenol)) with copper(ii) acetate and sodium perchlorate.
