A promising strategy is demonstrated for the synthesis of a novel ZIF-8 nanoflake array and a unique layered double hydroxide hollow nanoparticles-nanoflake array. Due to its specific structure, the NiCo hollow nanoparticles-nanoflake array exhibits remarkable electrochemical properties.
