A strong acidic zeolite Y nanoparticle assembly (HNANO-Y) with a micro–meso–macroporous structure was synthesized and used as a highly efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the hydration of alkynes to prepare ketone compounds.

Cation exchanger INDION 130 modified with vanadyl cations was found to be readily prepared and reusable and exhibited higher catalytic activity than the homogeneous oxo-vanadium catalyst for epoxidation of fatty compounds.
