One well-known method for hybrids synthesis with incorporated organic dyes is sol-gel method, which is based on the concept of molecular manipulation to design ceramics, glasses, and composites. The low-temperature process allows for the incorporation of guest organic molecules within the inorganic matrix, as well as for the synthesis of hybrid networks in which the organic and inorganic phases are interpenetrating. The aim of the work presented in this paper was the preparation of the gels with three different dyes, at different molar ratios by using the hydrolytic sol-gel process. The interaction of the dye and the oxide was examined by UV-vis spectroscopy and FT-IR. The thermal stability of the hybrid organic-inorganic xerogel formed here was studied by thermal analysis. The micrographs obtained by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed the high density of the films. Such characteristics indicate the possible application of these films in solar cells.

Abstract Different complexing agents were used to prepare Ni-Mg-Zn ferrite with the composition formula Ni0.2Mg0.2Zn0.6Fe2O4 via sol-gel method, which included citric acid, oxalic acid, egg white and EDTA. The Ni0.2Mg0.2Zn0.6Fe2O4 ferrite with no complexing agent was also prepared as a comparison. The chemical phases of samples were analyzed by the X-ray diffraction (XRD), which indicated that samples had spinel phase structure. The lattice constants of samples are in the range of 8.3980 ~ 8.4089 Å. The composition and structure were further studied by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). There were two typical characteristic bands related to the stretching vibrations of spinel ferrite in FTIR spectra. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) micrographs and transmission electron microscope (TEM) images showed that the particles have the shape of spherical cube. Energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) analyzed the elements and ingredients of samples, which included Ni, Mg, Zn, Fe and O. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is used to examine further the elemental composition and chemical state of sample prepared with EDTA as complexing agent. The optical properties of samples were investigated by photoluminescence spectra and UV-Vis spectroscopy. Vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) was used to characterize magnetic properties, hysteresis loops revealed the ferrimagnetism behavior of prepared samples.

Abstract In this study, hydroxyapatites reinforced with Boron, Copper and Zinc at different rates were produced using the sol-gel method. Different amounts of metal during the production of hydroxyapatite were used to observe the amount of crystallization and morphological differences in their structures. The characterization of the metal-doped HAp was carried out by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The data indicated that the Ca/P stoichiometric ratios of the samples varied between 1.71 and 2, so their morphologies were different from each other. The absorption behavior of novel metal-doped HAp samples was evaluated at room temperature by UV-vis spectroscopy. In the absorption spectra of the samples, absorption bands formed in similar regions. In addition, the thermal behavior of HAp samples was investigated using TG/DTA techniques. The results of the analysis showed that heat resistance of the new synthesized samples was quite high.

The La0.75Sr0.25Cr0.5Mn0.5O3-δnanometer powders were prepared by citric acid sol-gel method. The samples were characterized by DTA, FT-IR, XRD, TEM techniques. The preparation process, morphology of synthesized powders, the best heat-treatment temperature and the electrochemical performance had been studied. The results show that the spherical nanometer powders can be obtained and the best heat-treatment temperature is 800°C. The particle size is about 30nm and Ea is 0.071 eV.
