The perovskite membrane with large particle size, uniform coverage and high quality is the prerequisite for the preparation of efficient and stable perovskite solar cells. Various additives have been used to increase the grain size and improve the film morphology and crystal quality. In this paper, methylammonium chloride (MACl) was proposed to obtain high crystalline quality of [Formula: see text] perovskite absorption layer. The results show that the adding ammonium methyl chloride into the precursor of tricationic perovskite not only passivates surface defects to form high-quality and large-grain perovskite films, but also facilitates the formation of pure [Formula: see text]-phase [Formula: see text]. Meanwhile, the designed perovskite precursor solutions were used to fabricate mesoporous perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Owing to the perovskite layer consisting of optimized MACl doping, the short-circuit current density [Formula: see text] of PSCs reaches 23.81 mA/cm2, which is 2.73 mA/cm2 higher than the primary [Formula: see text] based on PSCs. The obtained power conversion efficiency (PCE) increases from 13.67% to 17.59%.

Zinc Oxide (ZnO) has been regarded as a promising electron transport layer (ETL) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) owing to its high electron mobility. However, the acid-nonresistance of ZnO could destroy organic-inorganic hybrid halide perovskite such as methylammonium lead triiodide (MAPbI3) in PSCs, resulting in poor power conversion efficiency (PCE). It is demonstrated in this work that Nb2O5/ZnO films were deposited at room temperature with RF magnetron sputtering and were successfully used as double electron transport layers (DETL) in PSCs due to the energy band matching between Nb2O5 and MAPbI3 as well as ZnO. In addition, the insertion of Nb2O5 between ZnO and MAPbI3 facilitated the stability of the perovskite film. A systematic investigation of the ZnO deposition time on the PCE has been carried out. A deposition time of five minutes achieved a ZnO layer in the PSCs with the highest power conversion efficiency of up to 13.8%. This excellent photovoltaic property was caused by the excellent light absorption property of the high-quality perovskite film and a fast electron extraction at the perovskite/DETL interface.

See-through colored perovskite solar cells that exploit a dielectric mirror are demonstrated. The dielectric mirror strongly reflects a wide range of visible light back to a photoactive layer for efficient light-harvesting, yielding 10.12% power conversion efficiency, with iridescent semitransparent colors.
