One-pot, multicomponent H2O2-HCl catalyzed system was employed for the synthesis of a series of benzazepine compounds. The implemented procedure oxidized the carbon-nitrogen bonds and produced benzazepines, while integrating diamines and substituted ketone. The advantage of the exercised synthetic route was that the reaction was water mediated and the completion time was quite reduced compared to the time required by conventional methods

AbstractA highly efficient synthetic route to polysubstituted 2H-chromenes was developed utilizing a domino O-alkylation/intramolecular Horner–Wadsworth–Emmons (HWE) olefination of diarylmethylphosphonates, which were readily accessed via Lewis acid mediated one-pot three-component coupling of aldehydes, phenols, and triethyl phosphite.

Abstract Crosslinked sulfonated polyacrylamide (Cross-PAA-SO3H) attached to nano-Fe3O4 as a superior catalyst has been used for the synthesis of 3-alkyl-4-phenyl-1,3-thiazole-2(3H)-thione derivatives through a three-component reactions of phenacyl bromide or 4-methoxyphenacyl bromide, carbon disulfide and primary amine under reflux condition in ethanol. A proper, atom-economical, straightforward one-pot multicomponent synthetic route for the synthesis of 1,3-thiazoles in good yields has been devised using crosslinked sulfonated polyacrylamide (Cross-PAA-SO3H) tethered to nano-Fe3O4. The catalyst has been characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and vibrating-sample magnetometer (VSM).

A convenient one-pot approach to the preparation of α-diazo-β-ketosulfones from sulfonyl chlorides is described. It involves the conversion of the sulfonyl chloride to sodium sulfinate, alkylation of the latter with α-haloketones followed by diazo transfer using the ‘sulfonyl-azide-free’ (‘SAFE’) protocol in aqueous medium. The simple and expedient method relies on readily available starting materials and provides facile access to a wide variety of valuable diazo reagents for organic synthesis.
