We have developed a catalytic system that enables the addition of alcohols to allenes using a combination of 5 mol% Pd(PPh3)4 and 10 mol% benzoic acid. Likewise, the addition reaction of carboxylic acids to alkynes is described. In all cases the reaction proceeded well, giving the corresponding allylation products in good-to-high yields with high regio- and stereoselectivities.Key words: addition, alcohols, carboxylic acids, allenes, alkynes, palladium.

An efficient protocol for the synthesis of quinolines in aqueous medium using a Rh(ii)acetate/TPPTS recyclable catalytic system has been developed. Furthermore, imines were also synthesized from benzylamines in moderate to good yields under solvent free conditions.

We have discovered a new mode of reactivity of 1-thiosugars in the presence of Cu(II) or Co(II) for a stereoselective O-glycosylation reaction. The process involves the use of a catalytic amount of Cu(acac)2 or Co(acac)2 and Ag2CO3 as an oxidant in α,α,α-trifluorotoluene (TFT). Moreover, this protocol turned out to have a broad scope, allowing to prepare a wide range of com-plex substituted O-glycoside esters in good to excellent yields with an exclusive β-selectivity. The late-stage modification of phar-maceuticals by this method was also demonstrated.

We have developed I2/KH2PO2 and KI/P(OEt)3 strategy syntheses of esters from carboxylic acids and alcohols through different reaction mechanisms. The advantages of present protocol: mild conditions and late-stage diversification of natural products.
