Recently, increased attention has been focused on the synthesis of soluble and processable conducting polymers due to interest in their potential application. For this purpose a new type electroactive 2,5-di(2-thienyl)pyrrole derivative was synthesized and its novel solution-processable and fluorescent polymer, namely poly(N-(2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrrol-1-yl)-3,4,5-tris(dodecyloxy benzamide) (P(TPDOB)), was electrochemically synthesized.

An acceptor (A) unit of benzodithiophene-4,8-dicarboxylate (BDTC) was combined with a donor (D) unit of thieno (3,4-d) thiazole (TTz) to synthesize a D-A type conjugated polymer, PBDTC-TTz. Bandgap of PBDTC-TTz was narrow, estimated to be 1.57 eV. The π-stacking distance observed by XRD was small value to be 3.55 Å. The energy level of the highest occupied molecular orbital was estimated to be ‒5.03 eV, which was deeper than that another D-A type copolymer composed of BDTC and thieno (3,4-b) thiophene, previously synthesized.

A new mechanism construction for small tooth number difference planetary gear drive is developed in which the planet wheel is guided by a planar crank and oscillating block mechanism. The sizes of linkage are design dexterously to get an approximate circumference linkage curve so that the engaging condition of internal gear pair can be satisfied. The trajectory of the inner gear center motion is analyzed and its error comparing with a standard circle is calculated to avoid movement interference. The movement of inner gear is study particularly to deduced formula of instantaneous transmission ratio. Despite observable fluctuation of output speed, this new type of gear transmission mechanism still has potential application value in situation with large ratio and low input speed. A hand drive winch prototype using the mechanism is also illustrated in this paper.

ABSTRACTConducting polymers have been found to be rather good photoconductors in the sub-nansecond time regime. The TP measurement is an effective probe for determining carrier photogeneration quantum yield as well as for investigating transport mechanisms. Here, we present a short survey of our results for a few interesting polymeric systems. We start with the trans-(CH)x grown by the Shirakawa method. We then compared the TP results to those obtained from PDA-TS which currently is the only conjugated polymer in single crystal form. From this comparison, we are able to gauge the improvements in the material quality as was demonstrated by recent TP in trans-(CH)x grown by the Naarmann method
