Ultrathin SnNb2O6 nanosheets with enhanced visible-light photocatalytic H2-production activity were prepared for the first time via a facile hydrothermal route using ultrathin K4Nb6O17 nanosheets as the precursor.

The Ni(ii) coordination polymer nanosheets were successfully exfoliated, which can be used as co-catalysts (Ni-CPNS@CdS). The optimized Ni-CPNS@CdS catalyst showed a super high visible-light photocatalytic hydrogen production activity.

C-doped TiO2 nanoplates (CTNP) with exposed {001} facets were synthesized for the first time. The obtained CTNP presented high visible-light photocatalytic activity. A reasonable mechanism of photocatalysis on CTNP under visible light was proposed.
