Highly fluorescent phosphorus, oxygen-doped graphitic carbon nitride nanodots (P,O-g-C3N4 nanodots) were synthesized using chemical oxidation and hydrothermal etching of bulk P-g-C3N4 obtained via pyrolysis of phytic acid and melamine.
