The paper reports the synthesis, X-ray structure and a deep analysis of the variable-temperature magnetic data of the new complex [ReCl3(tppz)]·MeCN being a very scarce example of mononuclear Re(iii) complexes incorporating nitrogen donor ligands.

Chelating oxygen and nitrogen donor ligands (1,2-dimethoxyethane, 1,3-dimethoxypropane, and N,N′-diethylethylenediamine) are found to dictate the crystal structure formation of MgCl2, the important support component of a polymerization catalyst.

This work illustrates syntheses, structures, redox and magnetic properties as well as catalase activities of rare μ3-oxo bridged mixed-valent trinuclear MnIIMnIII complexes (1 and 2) and a μ4-oxo bridged tetranuclear MnII4 complex (3) supported with nitrogen donor ligands.
