A novel “turn-on” fluorescent chemosensor RDP-1 based on rhodamine tri methoxy benzaldehyde conjugate was synthesized, which showed high selectivity and sensitivity towards recognition of Pb2+ in aqueous media.

A novel fluorescent chemosensor containing two rhodamine B moieties per molecule was synthesized and characterized as an “off–on” fluorescent probe for copper ions. Live cell imaging experiments demonstrate its nontoxic nature in bioimaging intracellular Cu2+.

We report a new fluorescent probe (Myco-Cys) for live cell cysteine imaging. Myco-Cys contains a methacrylate cleavable pendant group that preferentially reacts with cysteine over homocysteine and glutathione to afford a “turn-on” response.
