GO and multiwall CNTs were modified by treatment with urea and annealing at different temperatures incorporating N adatoms. AuGO and AuCNT catalysts were prepared and their activity depended on the Au NP size and the characteristics of the support.

The cement-based composite shielding materials filled with carbon materials such as ordinary carbon materials (graphite, coke and carbon black), carbon fiber and nano-carbon materials (carbon nano-tube and nano-carbon black) were prepared. The relationship of conductivity and shielding effectiveness in a frequency range of 100 KHz~1.5 GHz was studied. The electric properties of cement-based composites filled with carbon fiber is better than other carbon materials. With the contents of carbon fiber of 5.vol%, the average shielding effectiveness is about 37 dB and the maximum shielding effectiveness reaches 40 dB.

The carbon materials prepared by PVDF carbonization at different temperatures have similar BET surface area and pores volume. The content of fluorine in the carbons decreased with the carbonization temperature from 1.46% (atm %) at 600°C to 0.18 %( atm %) at 1000°C. The first cycle specific capacity and the initial coulombic efficiency decreases with the decrease of fluorine content in the samples. The first cycle discharge capacity decreased from 982 mAh/ g at 600°C to 752 mAh/ g at 1000°C and the initial coulombic efficiency decreased from 31.8% at 600°C to 24% at 1000°C. It is believed that fluorine contained in the carbon materials has a positive effect to improve the electrochemical properties as anode materials for Li-ion batteries.

The paper presents the theoretical foundations of carbon nanotubes, as well as the methods of the saturation of carbon materials containing nanotubes with hydrogen from the gaseous phase. The dependences of hydrogen storage concentration on the pressure (between 0 and 8 atmospheres) at the same temperature for adsorption (–30 degrees Celsius) and different temperatures for desorption have been obtained. Obviously, at 8 atmospheres the concentration of hydrogen storage varies with the change of the temperature. Particular attention was paid to the influence of the temperature on the rate of desorption.
