Results of investigation of size distribution of aerosol products of submillimeter laser ablation of nanosized aluminium clusters, carbon-diamond and SiO2 nanopowders are discussed. Diffusion spectrometer of aerosols was used for detection of the particle formed. Free electron laser of Siberian center of photochemical research was used as the source of terahertz radiation. Intercomparison with the results, obtained with other popular methods (dynamic light scattering, atomic-force and scanning-electron microscopy) is presented.

Objective: The aim of the present study was to fabricate and evaluate the drug release studies using Sodium Alginate (SA) and Gelatin (GE) microbeads intercalated with Kaolin (KA) nanoclay for sustained release of D-Penicillamine (D-PA). Methods: Sodium alginate/gelatin/Kaolin blend microbeads were prepared by an extrusion method by using glutaraldehyde (GA) as a crosslinker. The obtained microbeads were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X–ray diffraction (XRD). Drug release kinetics of the microbeads was investigated in simulated intestinal fluid (pH 7.4) at 37 °C. Results: Microbeads formation was confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy. X-RD reveals that the KA should be intercalated with the drug and also it confirms the molecular level dispersion of D-Penicillamine into microbeads. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) studies reveal that the beads were in spherical shape with some wrinkled depressions on the surface. The in vitro release study indicates the D-Penicillamine released in a controlled manner. The in vitro release kinetics was assessed by Korsmeyer-Peppas equation and the ‘n’ value lies in between 0.557-0.693 indicates Non-Fickian diffusion process. Conclusion: The results suggest that the developed KA intercalated microbeads are good potential drug carrier for the controlled release of D-PA.

Different morphology CuO nanostructures, including platelets, flower-like were simply synthesized at 350 °C controlled by droplet on hydrophobic substrate. This is a simple method which does not require any template, catalyst, or surfactant but can control the morphology of CuO from platelets to flowerlike. The morphologies are strongly dependent on the volume of droplet. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Optical microscope and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to observe the morphology, crystallinity, and chemical composition of the CuO structures. Growth mechanisms for shape selective CuO synthesis were proposed based on these results.

We reported on a convenient route to synthesize rhombohedra boron nitride (r-BN) micro-rod using urea (CO(NH2)2) and sodium borohydride (NaBH4) through thermal treatment at 1300 °C. The structure, morphology, and chemical composition of the obtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In order to determine the phase composition and abundance of the as-synthsized simples, Rietveld refinement has been performed to analyze the XRD data using the Rietan-2000 program. The results show that the abundance of r-BN is about 90.6 wt % and h-BN is 9.4 wt % deduced from Reitveld refinement.

The interaction in the systemsMII2P4O12-MICl (MINO3) (MI– Li, Na, K;MII– Mg, Co, Ni, Zn) was investigated in temperature range 1073-673 K. The conditions of formation phosphates: Li3PO4,MIMIIPO4(MI– Na, K), Na4MII3(PO4)2P2O7, Na9Co3(PO4)5have been established. Obtained crystalline phases have been investigated using X-ray powder diffraction, Diffuse reflectance, Raman and FTIR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy methods.
