Amides are undeniably some of the most important compounds in Nature and the chemical industry, being present in biomolecules, materials, pharmaceuticals and many other substances. Unfortunately, the traditional synthesis of amides suffers from some important drawbacks, principally the use of stoichiometric activators or the need to use highly reactive carboxylic acid derivatives. In recent years, the transamidation reaction has emerged as a valuable alternative to prepare amides. The reactivity of amides makes their direct reaction with nitrogen nucleophiles difficult; thus, the direct transamidation reaction needs a catalyst in order to activate the amide moiety and to promote the completion of the reaction because equilibrium is established. In this review, we present research on direct transamidation reactions ranging from studies of the mechanism to the recent developments of more applicable and versatile methodologies, emphasizing those reactions involving activation with metal catalysts.

This paper comprehensively reviews the spiral dynamics optimization (SDO) algorithm and investigates its characteristics. SDO algorithm is one of the most straightforward physics-based optimization algorithms and is successfully applied in various broad fields. This paper describes the recent advances of the SDO algorithm, including its adaptive, improved, and hybrid approaches. The growth of the SDO algorithm and its application in various areas, theoretical analysis, and comparison with its preceding and other algorithms are also described in detail. A detailed description of different spiral paths, their characteristics, and the application of these spiral approaches in developing and improving other optimization algorithms are comprehensively presented. The review concludes the current works on the SDO algorithm, highlighting its shortcomings and suggesting possible future research perspectives.

Abstract:: Formic acid (HCOOH) as an inexpensive and versatile reagent has attracted broad attention in the field of green synthesis and chemical industry. Formic acid acts not only as a convenient and less toxic CO surrogate, but also as an excel-lent formylative reagent, C1 source and hydrogen donor in organic reactions. Over the past decades, many exciting contribu-tions have been made which have helped chemists to understand the mechanisms of these reactions. The review will exam-ine recent advances in the utilization of formic acid as economical, practical and multipurpose reactant in synthetic trans-formations.

Our paper describes the methodology of an effective system construction based on information systems self-diagnosis using the case of Ukrainian enterprises in metallurgy, energy, and chemical industry. It describes the method of organization and implementation of self-diagnosis, mechanisms of detection, as well as the identification and localization of failed modules. The results formulate the criteria of sufficiency of efficiency of diagnostic information in the absence of restrictions on performance of elementary checks. Moreover, it yields the criterion of sufficiency of diagnostic information in the presence of restrictions on performance of elementary checks.

Flow of non-Newtonian (non-linear) fluids occurs not only in nature, for example, mud slides and avalanches, but also in many industrial processes involving chemicals (polymers), biological materials (blood), food (honey, ketchup, yogurt), pharmaceutical and personal care items (shampoo, creams), etc [...]
