Uranium, thorium, lead, and the lanthanides at sub-ng level were automatically and sequentially separated with combination of a small single anion-exchange column and highly pure mineral acids. The elements of interest were fully recovered.

BACKGROUND During pandemics, acquiring outpatients’ travel, occupation, contact and cluster history is one of the most important measures to assess the risk of the incoming patient. Previous means to acquire the information at the examination room was insufficient to block the spread of the disease. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to demonstrate the deployment of an automatic triage system to triage outpatients through internet. METHODS An automatic system incorporated to the operating online registration form of the hospital was deployed along with its on-site counterpart. Automatic query to the VPN travel and contact history database with the patient’s National ID number was made for each attempt to acquire the patient’s travel and contact history. Patients with relevant histories were denied registration or entry. Text messages were sent to patients without relevant history for the expedited route of entry if applicable. RESULTS A total of 127857 visits was recorded. Among all visits, 91195 of them were registered online. Seventy-one-thousand, eight-hundred and sixteen of them received text messages for expedited route of entry. Sixty-five patients had relevant histories revealed by the VPN database and were denied of registration or entry. CONCLUSIONS An automatic system to acquire outpatients’ relevant travel and contact histories was deployed rapidly in one of the largest academic medical centers in Taiwan. The updated system successfully denied patients with relevant travel or contact histories to enter the hospital without forming long lines. Further efforts could be made to integrate the system with the electronic medical record system.

The objective of our work is to determine:a) whether both of the imaging methods (TEM, STM) yield comparable data andb) which method is better suited for a reliable structure analysis of microclusters smaller than 1.5 nm, where a deviation of the bulk structure is expected. The silver was evaporated in a bell-jar system (p 10−5 pa) and deposited onto a 6 nm thick amorphous carbon film and a freshly cleaved highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG).The average deposited Ag thickness is 0.1 nm, controlled by a quartz crystal microbalance at a deposition rate of 0.02 nm/sec. The high resolution TEM investigations (100 kV) were executed by a hollow-cone illumination (HCI). For the STM investigations a commercial STM was used. With special vibration isolation we achieved a resolution of 0.06 nm (inserted diffraction image in Fig. 1c). The carbon film shows the remarkable reduction in noise by using HCI (Fig. 1a). The HOPG substrate (Fig. 1b), cleaved in sheets thinner than 30 nm for the TEM investigations, shows the typical arrangement of a nearly perfect stacking order and varying degrees of rotational disorder (i.e. artificial single crystals). The STM image (Fig. 1c) demonstrates the high degree of order in HOPG with atomic resolution.

Feelings of body dissatisfaction are common in Western society, especially in women and girls. More than innocent discontent, body dissatisfaction can have serious consequences such as depression and eating disorders. The current article discusses the nature of body dissatisfaction, how it develops and how it is currently being treated. We also discuss novel strategies to increase body satisfaction that work on the automatic system (e.g., by retraining attentional and conditioning processes), since recent research suggests that appearance-related information is processed automatically. We suggest that extant methods should be combined with these novel strategies, in order to optimally improve body dissatisfaction and to prevent its detrimental consequences.
