A series of well-defined dumbbell shaped copolymers consisting of PEO and PS segments were successfully synthesized by LAP and ROP mechanisms and the efficient thiol-ene addition reaction. This versatile synthetic route might be used to synthesize other similar copolymers.

Novel barbwire-like graft polymers PEO-g-PCL4 were synthesized by combination of ring opening polymerization (ROP) and Glaser coupling with thiol–yne addition reaction via the “grafting from” strategy.

A block copolymer was developed consisting of poly(propylene fumarate) (PPF) and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) blocks. The former component allows the copolymer to be crosslinked, while the latter component allows the physical properties to be controlled. The compositions and segmental lengths of the two components were varied, and the copolymer was subsequently characterized.
