Introduction: We developed a simple, fast and new method for the Fries rearrangement of aryl esters. Materials and Methods: 4-Hydroxy pyridinium triflate functionalized silica is a very efficient, reusable and economically available catalyst for the Fries rearrangement in solvent-free condition and under microwave irradiation. Results and Discussion: Also, a notable selectivity was observed in the presence of 4-hydroxy pyridinium triflate functionalized silica. Conclusion: Selectivity, shorter reaction time, high yield, and easy work-up are advantages of this synthetic method.

Herein we describle a facile synthesis of sulphonic acid oxime esters in acetonitrile from the corresponding sulphonic acids and oximes catalyzed by the environmental friendly 2-(1H-benzotriazole-1-yl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethyluronium tetrafluoroborate (TBTU) in the presence of triethylamine (TEA) under mild conditions. The present approach offers the advantages of a clean reaction, simple methodology, employing readily available catalyst, short reaction duration, high selectivity and high yield.

Platinum is commercially used in the catalytic industry for ages. The use of platinum has been significantly practiced because of its enhancing properties. There are a few advantages of using platinum such as high selectivity, high yield, high stability and able to undergo improvisation. However, when platinum lifetime is out, it is treated mainly as waste. Low recovery of platinum spent catalyst brought to the existence of recovery method using acidic and alkaline method. Proved to be harmful, green subtances were used as substitute for the chemical in recovering platinum. Therefore, a cheaper, safer and more environmentally method of recovery. Thus, this paper review about recovering platinum using palm oil leaf and how it is better than the existed chemical based method.

The esterification of oleic acid with alkyl alcohols in solv ent-free systems was catalyzed by an immobilized lipase from Candida sp . 99-125. The influence of several factors, including enzyme concentration, temperature, molar ratio between oleic acid and alkyl alcohols, and structure of alcohol was also investigated. The results indicated that the reactions catalyzed by lipase at 20 o C, in the presence of 3% (w/w) lipase, on the molar ratio of 1:1 between oleic acid and alcohols, afforded products in high yield. It showed high selectivity to primary and low selectivity to secondary alcohols and tertiary alcohols because of the sterically hindered effect. Methanol has certain toxicity on the activity of the lipase. The lipase from Candida sp. 99-125 was identified to be an effective catalyst in the esterification of alcohol and oleic acid at low temperature.
