Two different nickel precursors (NiCl2 or Ni(acac)2) produced high purity Ni3S4 nanoparticles with shape control in a one-pot colloidal synthesis. By simply changing the nickel precursors, the shape of the obtained Ni3S4 nanocrystals can be readily tuned from triangular nanoprisms to nanopyramids.
