Hypotheses about the relationship of the processes of visual perception and variations of the task in an identical stimulus environment was tested. The following tasks were tested: 1) a simple observation of the illuminations of the character in the matrix; 2) counting the number of highlights; 3) monitoring of the target symbol highlights and typing text with the P300 BCI. In a group of 14 people showed that the highest average length of visual fixation and the lowest dispersion of fixation observed for the second type of task. Statistically significant differences in the level of dispersion of visual fixations found between 1-2 and 1-3 modes; differences between the modes for the duration of fixations are at trends. Significant differences in the number of visual fixations on the target symbols wasn’t detected. The overall conclusion is the high perspective of pairing methodology brain-computer interface on the P300 wave with eye tracking to optimize the characteristics of the stimulus in the BCI environment. The differences in the parameters of oculomotor activity between the tasks reflect the level of attention concentration in the target symbols of the P300 BCI

BACKGROUND. To date, the study of the factors involved in the glomerular-tubular pathological connections leading to damage to the tubulointerstitial tissue is one of the topical areas of nephrology. THE AIM: to study the effect of MCP-1 in the development of tubulointerstitial fibrosis as a factor in the irreversible progression of chronic renal failure. PATIENTS ANDMETHODS. Prospective observation and retrospective analysis of case histories were carried out, which included a total of 75 patients with primary chronic glomerulonephritis. RESULTS. The average age of the patients was 36.7 ± 12.3 years, of which 52 were males, 23 were women. The average length of service in a nephrological disease was 3.0 [1.0; 5.0] years. The calculated GFR values are 87.3 ± 31.2 ml / min / 1.73 m2. In the general population, the moderate degree of MCP-1 expression, estimated at 2 points, was 35 %, pronounced expression was found in 25 % of the respondents. In the mesangium of the glomeruli and in macrophages, the expressed degree of MCP-1 expression was 20 % and 16 %, respectively, which characterizes MCP-1 as a marker produced by resident cells. When studying the relationship of MCP-1 in blood with clinical parameters, a correlation was found with the values of total protein (Rs= –0.43; p <0.05), with erythrocyturia (Rs= –0.28; p <0.05), as well as with an albumin level (Rs= –0.5; p <0.05), which indicates the role of MCP-1 in the development of nephritic forms of glomerulonephritis. Depending on the severity of MCP-1 expression in biopsy specimens, the incidence of focal tubulointerstitial fibrosis with MCP-1 expression estimated at 1 point was 13.3 %, 2 points – 14.3 %, 3 points – 44.0 %. The revealed significant correlation between the serum level of MCP-1 and the severity of tubulointerstitial fibrosis confirms the MCP-1-mediated mechanism of progression of CKD. CONCLUSION. The relationship of serum and tissue forms of MCP-1 with the progression of tubulointerstitial fibrosis in chronic glomerulonephritis has been demonstrated. MCP-1-induced mesangial cell plays a critical role in the development of renal tubular damage, and its increased expression is associated with progressive tubulointerstitial fibrosis and decreased renal function.

Seasonal and regional variations in the abundance of albacore during the 1949, 1950 and 1951 British Columbia fishing seasons suggest that exploitable stocks occurred in increasingly northerly areas during July and August and in more southerly areas during late August, September and early October. Catches were composed of four length-groups with average lengths of 54.3, 62.9, 71.7 and 81.9 centimetres. These groups were sometimes fairly discrete, but usually overlapped broadly, so that it was necessary to plot frequency distributions on probability paper in order to choose the best points of separation.Concentric marks on the centra of vertebrae were used as indicators of the age of the fish. The relationship of body length to vertebral radius is rectilinear. There is good agreement between the estimated average length and standard deviation in length of the fish when grouped by length and when grouped by vertebral ring number. The ages indicated for the four groups are III, IV, V and VI; however the first vertebral ring is somewhat less clear than the others and if it were discounted these ages would be reduced by one year. The fish whose vertebrae were examined had almost completed a year's growth. The length-weight relationship is expressed by the formula, log W = −4.912 + 3.13 log L, where W is the weight in kilograms and L is the fork length in centimetres.

Bali Sardinella, Sardinella lemuru Bleeker 1853, included in small pelagic groups which have an important economic value. The production of Bali Sardinella was the highest among the other small pelagic fish in Bali Strait waters. The morphoregression and length-weight relationship are important to be known to facilitate the conversion between a length measurement to another type of length measurement and the weight. The aims of this research were to reveal the relationship between total length (TL) and standard length (SL), total length and fork length (FL), fork length and standard length, and the length-weight. The research was held in Bali Strait waters from March 2017 – Mei 2018. The morphoregression was analyzed using simple linear regression, whereas the length-weight relationship using power regression. A total of 470 individuals of Bali sardinella were collected during the study period. The fish that analyzed have a length range 9.7 –20.2 cm TL. The average length of Bali sardinella was13.7 cm. The relationship between total length (TL) and standard length (SL); total length (TL) and fork length (FL); fork length (FL) and standard length (SL) for Bali sardinella respectively were TL = 1.1038SL + 0.9313; TL = 1.0861FL + 0.2967; and FL = 1.0068SL + 0.6936, respectively. The value of b which were generated from the length-weight relationship of Bali Sardinella was 3.22 with the growth patterns were positive allometric.AbstrakIkan lemuru, Sardinella lemuru Bleeker 1853, termasuk dalam kelompok ikan pelagis kecil yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi. The Mesozoic-Cenozoic coral Order Scleractinia has been suggested to have originated or evolved (1) by direct descent from the Paleozoic Order Rugosa or (2) by the development of a skeleton in members of one of the anemone groups that probably have existed throughout Phanerozoic time. In spite of much work on the subject, advocates of the direct descent hypothesis have failed to find convincing evidence of this relationship. Critical points are:(1) Rugosan septal insertion is serial; Scleractinian insertion is cyclic; no intermediate stages have been demonstrated. Apparent intermediates are Scleractinia having bilateral cyclic insertion or teratological Rugosa.(2) There is convincing evidence that the skeletons of many Rugosa were calcitic and none are known to be or to have been aragonitic. In contrast, the skeletons of all living Scleractinia are aragonitic and there is evidence that fossil Scleractinia were aragonitic also. The mineralogic difference is almost certainly due to intrinsic biologic factors.(3) No early Triassic corals of either group are known. This fact is not compelling (by itself) but is important in connection with points 1 and 2, because, given direct descent, both changes took place during this only stage in the history of the two groups in which there are no known corals.

Echinodermata is a phylum of marine invertebrates which has been extant since Cambrian time (c.a. 500 m.y. before the present). Modern examples of echinoderms include sea urchins, sea stars, and sea lilies (crinoids). The endoskeletons of echinoderms are composed of plates or ossicles (Fig. 1) which are with few exceptions, porous, single crystals of high-magnesian calcite. Despite their single crystal nature, fracture surfaces do not exhibit the near-perfect {10.4} cleavage characteristic of inorganic calcite. This paradoxical mix of biogenic and inorganic features has prompted much recent work on echinoderm skeletal crystallography. Furthermore, fossil echinoderm hard parts comprise a volumetrically significant portion of some marine limestones sequences. The ultrastructural and microchemical characterization of modern skeletal material should lend insight into: 1). The nature of the biogenic processes involved, for example, the relationship of Mg heterogeneity to morphological and structural features in modern echinoderm material, and 2). The nature of the diagenetic changes undergone by their ancient, fossilized counterparts. In this study, high resolution TEM (HRTEM), high voltage TEM (HVTEM), and STEM microanalysis are used to characterize tha ultrastructural and microchemical composition of skeletal elements of the modern crinoid Neocrinus blakei.

Electron microscopy has proved to be an invaluable discipline in studies on the relationship of viruses to the origin of leukemia, sarcoma, and other types of tumors in animals and man. The successful cell-free transmission of leukemia and sarcoma in mice, rats, hamsters, and cats, interpreted as due to a virus or viruses, was proved to be due to a virus on the basis of electron microscope studies. These studies demonstrated that all the types of neoplasia in animals of the species examined are produced by a virus of certain characteristic morphological properties similar, if not identical, in the mode of development in all types of neoplasia in animals, as shown in Fig. 1.

In RBL-2H3 rat leukemic mast cells, crosslinking IgE-receptor complexes with anti-IgE antibody leads to degranulation. Receptor crosslinking also stimulates the redistribution of receptors on the cell surface, a process that can be observed by labeling the anti-IgE with 15 nm protein A-gold particles as described in Stump et al. (1989), followed by back-scattered electron imaging (BEI) in the scanning electron microscope. We report that anti-IgE binding stimulates the redistribution of IgE-receptor complexes at 37“C from a dispersed topography (singlets and doublets; S/D) to distributions dominated sequentially by short chains, small clusters and large aggregates of crosslinked receptors. These patterns can be observed (Figure 1), quantified (Figure 2) and analyzed statistically. Cells incubated with 1 μg/ml anti-IgE, a concentration that stimulates maximum net secretion, redistribute receptors as far as chains and small clusters during a 15 min incubation period. At 3 and 10 μg/ml anti-IgE, net secretion is reduced and the majority of receptors redistribute rapidly into clusters and large aggregates.
