A new colorimetric, “turn-on” fluorescent chemosensor (DEAS-BPH) was synthesized for selective and sensitive recognition of Hg2+ ions with no interference from environmentally relevant metal ions in a mixed organo-aqueous medium.
An aggregation-induced emission (AIE) based “turn-on” fluorescent chemodosimeter for selective detection of Pb2+ ions has been developed. The probe is a phosphate functionalized tetraphenylethylene derivative and the resulting lead–TPE complex has very low solubility in working solvent and triggers AIE and shows a low detection limit of 10 ppb.
A pyrene-based probe bearing benzothiazole ionophore (Py-BTZ) was synthesised as a “turn-on” fluorescent chemosensor for the detection of Fe3+ and Fe2+ ions in CH3CN : H2O (1 : 1, v/v) solvent mixes.
