AbstractVocational rehabilitation provides guidance and support to individuals with disabilities entering the workforce. Employment plans include considerations of goals, the job market, and pre-existing or trainable skills on the part of job seekers. This process also includes an understanding of the social forces that affect employment goals. Current models of disability include the medical, social, and embodiment models. Each is cognitively based and assumes an element of responsibility or blame, that is, respectively, focused on the individual with a disability, the community, or a combination of these two factors. The difference model of disability offers an alternative understanding of disability by providing an affect-based framework that eliminates the premise of blame. This conceptualization of disability provides a new approach to vocational rehabilitation.

The Difference

The augmented multiple regression model for the analysis of data from selected twin pairs was extended to facilitate analyses of data from twin pairs and nontwin siblings. Fitting this extended model to data from both selected twin pairs and siblings yields direct estimates of heritability (h2) and the difference between environmental influences shared by members of twin pairs and those of sib or twin–sib pairs (i.e., c2(t) – c2 (s)). When this model was fitted to reading performance data from 293 monozygotic and 436 dizygotic pairs selected for reading difficulties, and 291 of their nontwin siblings, h2 = .48 ± .22, p = .03, and c2 (t) – c2 (s) = .22 ± .12, p = .06. Although the test for differential shared environmental influences is only marginally significant, the results of this analysis suggest that environmental influences on reading performance that are shared by members of twin pairs (.36) may be substantially greater than those for less contemporaneous twin–sibling pairs (.14).

in this paper, the author used method of Two-dimensional finite difference to establish a model of temperature in hot rolled steels in finishing stands, and used explicit difference method to solve the difference model. The model was optimized by correct parameters through particle swarm optimization combining with measure data. It has been verified that the deviation of the models prediction and real data keeps between ±10°C.

The study aimed at determining the reading difficulties of sixth grade students in Hafr Al-Batin governorate and identifying the effect of using the strategy of peers teaching in the treatment of reading difficulties. The semi-experimental method was used to suit the study objectives. (245) students during the second semester of the academic year 1434/1435 H. The researcher used a test to measure difficulties in reading aloud, a guide for the teacher and learner, and Stkhaddmt arithmetic averages, standard deviations, and stability coefficient alpha Cronbach, and Pearson correlation coefficient, as well as the accompanying analysis of variance (ANCOVA) in the statistical treatments. The results revealed that there was a statistically significant effect at the level of (α 0.05)) for the use of the strategy of teaching peers in the treatment of the difficulties of verbal reading of the recognition and pronunciation and reading speed between the experimental and control groups in the sixth grade pupils. The experimental average was 83.33, the control group average was only 57.64, the difference was statistically significant for the pilot, and the test result for both groups was in the tribal test; in all the verbal reading skills measured by the test 45.37). The most difficult reading skills were found to be the difficulty of pronunciation. The ability of reading speed was the second in terms of difficulty with an arithmetic mean (45.85) , With an average of (53.67). The study recommended a number of recommendations, including attention to the use of effective strategies such as peer education strategy to address the difficulties of reading aloud, especially for the primary stage and its use in treatment plans to address the difficulties of reading aloud and the inclusion of in-service training programs for Arabic teachers on practical topics of the strategy of peers teaching.

Although the difference between the velocity of two successive vehicles is considered in the full velocity difference model (FVDM), more status information from preceding vehicles affecting the behavior of car-following has not been effectively utilized. For improving the performance of the FVDM, an extended modified car-following model taking into account traffic density and the acceleration of a leading vehicle (DAVD, density and acceleration velocity difference model) is presented under the condition of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications. Stability in the developed model is derived through applying linear stability theory. The curves of neutral stability for the improved model indicate that when the driver pays more attention to the traffic status in front, the traffic flow stability region is larger. Numerical simulation illustrates that traffic flow disturbance could be suppressed by gaining more information on preceding vehicles.
