This paper deals with the issue of the management cycle of Competitive Intelligence. The author describes the process of Competitive Intelligence in Czech corporate management. He concludes that in most cases, the Competitive Intelligence operations are directed by the top management, and the attention of Competitive Intelligence is being paid to Key Intelligence Topics (KIT). The Competitive Intelligence is then focused on the output of strategic analyses, complemented in some cases with a summary (synthesis) of acquired intelligence plus some signal intelligence (SIGINT). The results of the Competitive Intelligence produced in such a way are actually the outputs mostly applicable in operational management and mostly unsuitable for strategic management. However, top managers abroad almost invariably need the data relevant to the future situation since their decisions are of strategic nature. The following section of the paper is devoted to the conceptual solution of Competitive Intelligence, i.e. the Competitive Intelligence objectives linked with the development strategy of the corporation. Here the author arrives at three basic development strategies: a.) the corporation desires status quo, i.e. to keep its market position as it is, b.) the corporation is out to expand, and c.) the corporation intends not only to keep its existing and dominant market position but strives for its long-term dominance to last.

Workers of the helping professions are particularly susceptible to the occupational burnout syndrome. This stems from the very nature of helping other people who experience several social problems in their everyday life. Working in the helping and caregiving professions relies on direct contact with another human being and involves intensive stress. The burnout syndrome is a consequence of functioning under long-term stress resulting, for example, from overwork. The study objective was to diagnose the occupational burnout among workers in the helping professions and to determine the correlation between burnout and stress-coping styles. In the study, we used Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) by C. Maslach (to assess an individual’s experience of burnout) and Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS) by S. Norman, S. Endler, J.D.A. Parker (adapted by P. Szczepaniak, J. Strelau, K. Wrześniewski) (to assess styles of coping with stress). The empirical analyses indicated the existence of a correlation between the sense of occupational burnout among the workers studied and their styles of coping with stress.

The methodology of current research is based on the qualitative research method and analysis of the company's documents. In a total of 19 semi-structured individual anonymous interviews and one focus group were conducted with competent representatives of the companies – heads of human resources and finance departments of companies, heads of legal departments or top managers of law firms representing them. According to the research findings, employers set different goals for share and profit-sharing programs or measures. Among the already examined, high, long-term employee motivation dominates. It also includes aspects of employee involvement in management, strengthening loyalty, forming a sense of ownership. The Scandinavian capital corporation, which manages several companies in Lithuania and applies for a share ownership program, has succeeded in achieving its goals by strengthening employee motivation and involvement.

This paper aims to demonstrate the roles and importance of the operating income of the management of Jordanian industrial companies, and the extent to which they depend on it to make the necessary financial decisions in order to meet their long-term needs. The data was collected from the financial reports of companies representing the study community for the period 2012-2016, after being classified by different industrial sectors. The research employed the operating incomes as an independent variable and long-term internal financial decisions as a dependent variable. The results of the data analysis showed a disparity between the different industrial sectors. The Engineering and Construction industries achieved the highest average of the ratio of long-term internal financing by 0.986, due to the importance of this activity on the Jordanian economy and the size of the high investment in it from the researchers' point of view. The lowest average was shown in the Paper and Cardboard sector by 0.550, due to the lack of investments in it compared to other industrial sectors that are more important to the Jordanian economy. The overall annual average of long-term domestic financing for all sectors was 0.892. The results also showed a statistically significant role for operating income in long-term internal financial decisions by the management of Jordan's public industrial joint stock companies.
