У  статті  висвітлено  методологічні  та  практичні  засади  вивчення  онтогенезу  соціального  інтелекту. Складність вивчення даного соціально-психологічного феномену пов’язана із дотичністю його  до багатьох явищ, які описують умови успішності соціальної взаємодії особистості. Проаналізовано наявні  теоретичні   підходи   до   визначення   змісту   та   структури  соціального  інтелекту,   до   взаємозв’язку  останнього  з  іншими  видами  інтелекту.  Визначено,  що  дослідження  соціального  інтелекту  молодших  школярів слід здійснювати на основі розуміння останнього як здатності, що виникає на базі комплексу  інтелектуальних,   особистісних,   комунікативних   і   поведінкових   рис,   що   зумовлюють   прогнозування  розвитку  міжособистісних  ситуацій,  інтерпретацію  інформації  і  поведінки,  готовність  до  соціальної  взаємодії і прийняття рішень. Здійснене пілотажне емпіричне дослідження прогностичних можливостей  дітей  молодшого  шкільного  віку  продемонструвало  наявні  позитивні  кореляційні  зв’язки  між  рівнем  розвитку здатності до передбачення найбільш адекватного сценарію розвитку подій у соціальній ситуації  та рівнем розвитку мовленнєвого досвіду. Найбільш тісний взаємозв’язок виявлено між рівнем розвитку  здатності  передбачати  адекватну  вербальну  відповідь  у  ситуації  комунікації  та  рівнем  розвитку  мовленнєвої компетентності та мовленнєвої діяльності дітей молодшого шкільного віку. Таким чином,  були зроблені попередні висновки про наявність взаємозв’язку між мовленнєвим досвідом та прогностичним  можливостями у складі соціального інтелекту дитини молодшого шкільного віку The  article  outlines  the  methodological  and  practical  principles  of  studying  the  ontogenesis  of  social  intelligence. The complexity of studying this socio-psychological phenomenon is associated with its attractiveness to  many  phenomena  that  describe  the  conditions  for  the  successful  social  interaction.  The  existing  theoretical  approaches to the definition of the content and structure of social intelligence, to the interrelationship of it with  other types of intelligence are analyzed. It is determined that research of social intelligence of junior pupils should  be carried out on the basis of the understanding of this kind of intelligencer as an ability that based on a complex of  intellectual, personal, communicative and behavioral features. This complex predetermines the forecasting of the  development  of  interpersonal  situations,  the  interpretation  of  information  and  behavior,  readiness  for  social  interaction  and  decision-making.  The  research  of  the  prognostic  possibilities  of  primary  school  children  demonstrated the positive correlation between the level of development of the ability to predict the most adequate  scenario of the development of events in the social situation and the level of development of speech experience. The  closest relationship is found between the level of development of the ability to provide an adequate verbal response  in the context of communication and the level of development of speech competence and speech activity of children  of junior school age. Thus, was done a conclusion about the existence of a relationship between speech experience  and prognostic possibilities in the social intellect of a child of junior school age.

Introduction: Pain during the injection of anesthetic agents may be distressing and can reduce the acceptability of an otherwise useful agent such as propofol during daycare surgeries. Lidocaine and ketamine both are used as pre-treatment to decrease propofol induced pain. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of ketamine injection to decrease propofol-induced pain in comparison to lidocaine injection. Methodology: This is a prospective cross-sectional comparative study. Eighty-nine cases were divided into two groups where group K received ketamine 2 ml (0.2 mg/kg) whereas group L received lidocaine 2% 2ml (0.5 mg/kg) after venous occlusion with rubber tourniquet. One-fourth dose of propofol was injected 1 min after release of tourniquet and pain accessed at 0, 1, and 2 minutes of propofol injection with a verbal response and behavioral signs. Chi-square test and paired T-test were used and a p-value less than 0.05 was considered significant. Result: Regarding hemodynamic, oxygenation, and adverse effects there was no significant difference. Immediately after propofol injection, only 1 patient of the ketamine group had mild pain (2.22%) while 12 patients from the lignocaine group had mild pain (27.27%) with a p-value of 0.009. Also after 2 minutes of propofol injection, only 12 cases had mild pain i.e. 13.48% (1 from ketamine group i.e. 2.22% and 11 from lidocaine group i.e. 25%) with p-value of 0.002. Conclusion: Our study helps prove low-dose ketamine is more effective in reducing the incidence and severity of pain on injection of propofol in comparison to Lidocaine with better hemodynamic stability.

A legibility study was performed to investigate the effects of scale factors, graduation marks, orientation of scales, and reading conditions on the speed and accuracy of reading moving-tape instruments. Each of 150 Air Force Officers made 150 self-paced readings from slides of hand drawn tape instruments. Error was expressed as the magnitude of deviation of a subjects' verbal response from the set scale value. An analysis of variance was performed on the mean error scores, standard deviations of error, mean reaction times, and standard deviations of reaction times. The results clearly favored the 1 7/8 inch scale factor over the 1 3/8 inch and the 2 3/8 scale factor. The use of 9 graduation marks was superior to either 0, 1, 3, or 4 graduation marks. Reading conditions had little effect on performance. Horizontal scales were read more rapidly but no more accurately than vertical scales.

Lhermitte and Duclos first described Dysplastic Gangliocytoma in 1920. Lhermitte Duclos Disease (LDD) is an extremely rare disorder of uncertain prognosis and pathogenesis. LDD is recognised as a part of Cowden Disease, which being an autosomal-dominant phacomatosis and cancer syndrome. Till date only about 225 cases of LDD have currently been reported in medical literature. It is most commonly seen in young adults with a peak incidence in third or fourth decade with signs and symptoms of cerebellar dysfunction or increased intracranial pressure leading to obstructive hydrocephalus. A 36-year-old female came to Neuromedicine Outpatient Department (OPD) in a Tertiary Care Superspecialty Hospital with chief complaints of headache and vomiting, difficulty in swallowing liquid food since two months with no significant family history. The patient’s general condition was not good with significant weakness on presentation. The patient was conscious, oriented with pulse rate of 78/bpm, blood pressure of 118/80 mm of Hg with bilateral clear chest with normal S1 S2 sound. The Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) was found to be Eye response-4, Verbal response-5, Motor response-6. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of patient showed large heterogeneous non-enhancing lesion involving left cerebellar hemisphere, vermis and cerebellar peduncle with widened cerebellar folia with a “Tigroid appearance”. A diagnosis of Cerebellar Gangliocytoma was made and was treated successfully with surgery and diagnostically proven with biopsy and immunohistochemistry. The background history of Cowden syndrome was not present in index case.

Evidence-based educational practices always pave a way for better reasoning, judgment and decision making in clinical setting. Clinical Reasoning Web is a method of critical patient analysis in which relationships among nursing diagnoses supports the development of clinical reasoning skills. This method helps students to learn thinking like a nurse. Effective clinical reasoning ability promotes skills to collect data, solve problems, make decisions, provide quality care and survive in the workplace. Explaining relationships among nursing diagnoses supports the development of clinical reasoning skills. Explanations also encourage nurses and nursing students to reason forward from a problem to an outcome and also backwards from the outcome or effect to the current state of the patient. In this paper, the author has described the nursing care of a client, who was alleged with a road traffic accident and diagnosed to have right fronto-temporal-parietal contusion, brainstem contusion, acute extradural hematoma left temporal region. Cranio-cerebral trauma and traumatic brain injury are general designations to denote injury to the skull, brain, or both that is of sufficient magnitude to interfere with normal function and require treatment. The patient was unconscious, GCS- E 1VT M1 -2T/15 (verbal response cannot be assessed because of ET tube). Here the author illustrates how effectively a clinical reasoning web can be formulated by identifying keystone issue and related problems.
