One of the effort to overcome the ineffectiveness of face-to-face learning is to extend the interaction outside the classroom framework. In this case, advances in information technology can be utilized. The use of technology that functions like classroom face-to-face is through online learning. This study aims to find out: (1) student perceptions of online learning (a Moodle platform); and (2) the effect of student perceptions of online learning on the learning outcomes of Vocational Theory course. The research object was 117 students. The data analysis being used were descriptive statistics and Kendall's tau. The results of the study indicate that online learning is an excellent medium to complement face-to-face learning. The contribution of the perception of learning outcomes found in this study is only 1.70%. It can be said that 98.0% of learning outcomes are determined by other factorsUpaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah ketidak efektifan pembelajaran tatap muka adalah dengan membuat ekstensi berinteraksi di luar kelas.

Drawing on Holland’s (1985, 1996) vocational theory and based on a sample of 9,011 IT professionals, two research questions were investigated. On what personality traits do IT professionals differ from other occupations and which of these are also related to their career satisfaction? Five traits met both these criteria—Emotional Resilience, Openness, Tough-Mindedness, and Customer Service—for which IT professionals had higher scores, and conscientiousness, for which they had lower scores. IT career satisfaction was also positively related to E xtraversion, Agreeableness/Teamwork, Assertiveness, Optimism, Tough-Mindedness, Work Drive, and Visionary Style. Results are discussed in terms of the fit of these traits with IT work and the value of these insights for personnel-management functions like selection, training, professional development, and career planning.

Studying entrepreneurship longitudinally is in effect a study of entrepreneurial careers, but there is little vocational theory specific to self-employment, much less entrepreneurship. Using Edgar Schein's Career Anchor Theory as a starting point, the existing anchors of autonomy and entrepreneurship are adapted to facilitate secondary analysis using existing longitudinal datasets. A model of career progression or trajectory, which would permit analysis of the self-employed as well as others, is developed using six variables. The first three come from Schein's “career cone” model of vocational movement–-hierarchy, function, and centrality. Three new variables are derived from a diverse literature on entrepreneurship–-employment duration, job multiplicity, and self-employment emergence. One approach to the operationalization of these six variables Is shown using the Panel Study of Income Dynamics, and implications for future research and theorizing on entrepreneurial career progression are given.

THE FACTORS THAT EFFECT FOR STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENT OF VOCATIONAL THEORY IN VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL (SMK)AbstractThe purpose of this study was to examine the effect of teachers’ teaching performance, utilization of the learning facilities, and achievement motivation either individually or simultaneously on the achievement of vocational theory of electrical power engineering of the students of vocational high schools in Yogyakarta City. The population in this study was students of class XII in electrical power engineering skill competency at vocational high schools in Yogyakarta City. A sample of 170 students was established using the proportional random sampling technique with Slovin formula. The instruments used were a closed questionnaire and test of the vocational theory. The data analysis used simple linear regression and multiple linear regression analyses with the significance level of 5%. The results are as follows. (1) There is a significant effect of teachers’ teaching performance on their achievement in vocational theory with the magnitude of effect of 32.8 %. (2) There is a significant effect of the utilization of learning facilities on the students’ achievement in vocational theory with the magnitude of effect of 9 %. (3) There is a significant effect of students’ achievement motivation on their achievement in vocational theory, with the magnitude of effect of 14.1 %. (4) There is a significant effect of teachers’ teaching performance, their utilization of learning facilities, and their achievement motivation on their achievement in vocational theory with the simultaneous magnitude of effect of 34.3 %, while 63.7 % is affected by other factors.

This study is aimed at: (1) understanding the characteristics of Accounting Vocational Theory trial test items using the Item Response Theory and (2) determining the horizontal equation of Accounting Vocational Theory trial exam instruments. This was explorative-descriptive research, observing the subject of the eleventh-grade students. The research objects were test instruments and responses of students from six schools selected through the stratified random sampling technique. The data analysis employed review sheets and BILOG program for the Item Response Theory 2PL. The findings were as follows. (1) The test item review of test packages A and B found 37 good quality items, the Item Response Theory using 2PL showed that Package A Test generated 27 good questions, Package B Test contained 24 good questions. (2) The question equating using the Mean/Sigma method resulted in the equation of = 1.168bx + 0.270, with the Mean/Mean method resulting in the equation of  = 0.997bx - 0.250, the Mean/Mean method at 0.250, while Mean/Sigma method at 0.320.
