Experimental data on transverse momentum spectra of strange particles [Formula: see text] produced in [Formula: see text] collisions at [Formula: see text] obtained by the STAR and PHENIX collaborations at RHIC are analyzed in the framework of [Formula: see text]-scaling approach. The concept of the [Formula: see text]-scaling is based on fundamental principles of self-similarity, locality, and fractality of hadron interactions at high energies. General properties of the data [Formula: see text]-presentation are studied. Self-similarity of fractal structure of protons and fragmentation processes with strange particles is discussed. A microscopic scenario of constituent interactions developed within the [Formula: see text]-scaling scheme is used to study the dependence of momentum fractions and recoil mass on the collision energy, transverse momentum and mass of produced inclusive particle, and to estimate the constituent energy loss. We consider that obtained results can be useful in study of strangeness origin, in searching for new physics with strange probes, and can serve for better understanding of fractality of hadron interactions at small scales.

In this article we review the important role of non-equilibrium dynamics in reactions induced by ions and hadron beams to understand the fragmentation processes inside hadronic media. We discuss the single-particle dynamics in specific sources such as spectators in heavy-ion collisions and residual nuclear targets in hadron-induced reactions. Particular attention is given to the dynamics of hyperons. We further discuss the question regarding the onset of local instabilities, which are relevant for the appearance of fragmentation phenomena in nuclear reactions. We apply the theoretical formalism, that is, semi-classical transport embedded with statistical methods of nuclear fragmentation, to reactions induced by light ions and hadron beams. We discuss the results of nuclear fragmentation and, in particular, examine the formation of hypernuclei. Such studies are important for obtaining a deeper understanding of the equation of state in fragmenting matter and are relevant for forthcoming experiments, such as PANDA at FAIR and J-PARC in Japan.

The ionization yield from fast electron impact on DCl under radiolysis conditions at 200 to 650 Torr was found to be 1.006 ± 0.023 times that from HCl. Also primary ionization processes were investigated by mass spectrometry. The relative abundance of Cl+ from HCl near threshold at 17.4 eV was about twice that from DCl, but processes with onset at and above 21.0 eV did not exhibit an isotope effect. The interpretation of the results and their implications concerning the mechanism of radiolysis of HCl were discussed.

AbstractThe reactions of (Ph3Sn)2O with PhMePOCl and with Ph2POCl lead to Ph3SnO2PMePh and Ph(SnO2PPh2, respectively. Ph3SnO2PMe2 has been prepared from the reaction of (Ph3Sn)2O and Me2PO2H in toluene. The IR and Raman spectra of Ph3SnO2PMe2, Ph3(SnO2PMePh and Ph3SnO2PPh2 are found to be consistent with polymeric structures with pentacoordinated tin atoms. The EI mass spectra indicate that the principal fragmentation processes of Ph3SnO2PRR′ (RR′ = Me2, MePh, Ph2) appear to occur by loss of phenyl radicals from tin and by elimination of the entire diorganophosphinate group.

Radiation damage to isolated glycyl-leucine (C8H16N2O3) molecules caused by interaction with He2+ ions was studied. For the first time, the relative cross sections of the main processes of changes in the charge state of the collision partners and the relative cross sections of the fragmentation processes of singly and doubly charged molecular ions formed during single collisions of glycyl-leucine molecules with ions have been obtained. The optimized geometry of the molecule and singly charged glycyl-leucine ion was calculated using the density functional theory (DFT).
