AbstractMolten and semi-crystalline mixtures of PEO and PMMA have been investigated by small angle neutron and X-ray scattering. It has been found that the Flory Huggins interaction parameter, evaluated from the intermolecular scattering function, is quite small and is apparently dominated by entropic contributions. Scattering profiles from the semi-crystalline mixtures clearly show that the PMMA is incorporated within the amorphous phase between the crystalline PEO lamellae.
