In order to study the effect of surfactants on wettability of quartz surface, the dynamic contact angles of different surfactants on water-wet and oil-wet quartz surfaces were measured. The experimental results showed that the advancing contact angles of cationic surfactants, anionic surfactants and nonionic surfactants on oil-wet quartz surfaces decrease with the increase of surfactant concentrations; the wettability of water-wet quartz plates remains water-wet after treated by all three kinds of surfactants. Surfactants can reverse the wettability from oil-wet to water-wet at low concentrations; The electrostatic force, hydrophobic force and the attraction between surfactant and polar components of crude oil are the key interactions in the wettability alteration process.

This paper analysis principle of BLBL(Bouguer-Laanbert-Beer-Law) model, and introduce SiO2 physical parameters of the simulation experiments to verify the scope of the model and the expected value of the theoretical model. The model be applicable under the low concentrations and meets unrelated conditions. The model full-scattering method in the optics methods of measurement obtained consistent with the theoretical value.

The dynamic and equilibrium properties of adsorption layers of poly (oxyethylene) alkyl ether (CnEOm) can be well described by the reorientation model. In its classical version, it assumes two adsorption states; however, there are obviously surfactants that can adsorb in more than two possible conformations. The experimental data for C14EO4 and C14EO8 (dynamic and equilibrium surface tensions and surface dilational visco-elasticity as measured by bubble profile analysis tensiometry) are used to verify if a reorientation model with more than two possible adsorption states can better describe the complete set data of CnEOm adsorption layers at the water/air interface. The proposed refined theoretical model allows s different states of the adsorbing molecules at the interface. The comparison between the model and experiment demonstrates that, for C14EO4, the assumption of s = 5 adsorption states provides a much better agreement than for s = 2, while for C14EO8, a number of s = 10 adsorption states allows an optimum data description.

The atomic-force microscopy-based method of irreversible chemical AFM-fishing (AFM-IF ) has been developed for the detection of proteins at ultra-low concentrations in solution. Using this method, a very low concentration of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) protein (10 17 M) was detected in solution. A theoretical model that allows the description of obtained experimental data, is proposed. This model takes into consideration both the transport of the protein from the bulk solution onto the AFM-chip surface and its irreversible binding to the activated area.
